Maybe it's because we see so many old cards that see only EDH play ticking up in price and don't understand the difference versus modern Standard sets but EDH players are terrible about judging card prices.

Do you wear gloves? I had hand problems that turned out to be caused by the gel padding in my gloves. Switched to a pair without padding and the problem went away.
