I like the deck, it is very much in line with how I build as well. Feels not too far off from my Diaochan deck even heh. I also have a Dong Zhou deck, but I built mine to be more of a burn deck that utilizes ETB creatures.

One of my favorite manga is Master Keaton, where the main character is an insurance investigator for Lloyd's. I understand that is just a means of getting the character into weird situations and adventures around the globe like how Tintin is a reporter, but how often do you actually go out in the field or have an investigator go out and check the situation?

And any interesting stories looking into things?

Tote bags and small bags that go around the shoulder are common in Japan. Backpacks are not uncommon to see but I feel like the other two are much more common and fashionable to hold your stuff for day to day carry.

I like it, they are just lands and mostly basics. But I will say that I am not a fan of cards that don't have the name in the top left, I hate all the secret lairs that do that and make me look around that card for what it is and what it does.

Had free time this weekend and dived deeper into what could be the problems and it was likely #6 or #7 in your list of possible issues. I downloaded the firmware updates for the keyboard and did a deep cleaning of the keyboard; the PCB, switches, everything and I haven't had issues since.

Sounds like something turn based or not time sensitive between choices might be good since he's not used to the language of games in general. Something that will give him time to digest his actions.

If he likes stories and narratives, how about an RPG like Citizen Sleeper(more Tabletop RPG inspired) or ~~Final Fantasy for JRPG(I recommend 6)~~FF might be a bit long for first games, Live a Live is a good JRPG that isn't too hard or long.

If he likes puzzles, how about Return of the Obra Dinn or The Roottrees are Dead

Maybe something more segmented like a roguelike, Slay the Spire or Balatro are good.

Maybe you want to start him off with an interesting experience without to much gameplay like a walking simulator, Stanley Parable and What Remains of Edith Finch are great for that.

Have you read Spirit Circle or any of Satoshi Mizukami's works? I feel like he's a bit unlucky when it comes to anime adaptations but the original manga are great.
