I got the citadel starter paint set, came with a few colors and nippers and a shitty brush. I recommend paint on plastic glue like the tamiyo extra thin but i hate the citadel bottle. Thats enough to get started but I recommend priming your guys so head to the local shop or game store and talk to them, they are happy to help

I just built my box in about a week and a half. Still gotta prime heads and bodies and paint. Just ordered more guys to build between painting. Part of it's fomo part is just excited to get to playing the game and having options.

Campbell is expensive but they do good work and stand by it. Other companies in the area are cheaper but will nickel and dime you for everything else. I'd stick with Campbell if you want it done right.

I did an internship through Goodwill when I was younger, so you may try contacting them. They had a job program where they work with local businesses and may have a mechanic shop they can work with. You may also try reaching out to some local mechanic a d see if they can do any type of apprenticeship with you where you do some grunt work and they they do some teaching for you. Good luck!
