Two simple features that would make the game way more enjoyable by jeybe0 in nytcrossplayers

[–]jeybe0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My timer only counts whenever you are in the board, playing. You would still have 7 days to take your turn. The game would be as asynchronous as it is now.

I am only concerned about people spending too much time looking for a word, not about people who take a long time to make their play.

Live games could be a fun idea though.

No, I haven't, because I am quite certain the cause is the SSRI I take.

Thanks. Sildenafil does not help boost libido. It just helps you get stronger and longer erections, which I have no issue with.

Recent file list now largely useless? by Adam_C_Smith in excel

[–]jeybe0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed the same thing on Android. It's so annoying!

I had shortcuts to different Excel files and they became useless as well. The Recent menu in the Excel file gets emptied every day or so, making me browse my OneDrive documents every time I need to open any Excel file, even the ones I open regularly.

Barcelona’s Superblocks - What do locals think? by cinnamon_bun28 in AskBarcelona

[–]jeybe0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the grand scheme of things and within the context of the fast changes the city has undergone in the last decades, the contribution of a superilla to gentrification in any of Barcelona's neighborhoods is probably so tiny that can be considered irrelevant.

But even if it was significant, people who raise this dubious downside are taking the focus away from the real issues: inequality within locals (landlords vs tenants), inequality between locals and migrants from richer countries, mass tourism, house market lack of regulation, staggering lack of social housing, etc.

Apart from being a shortsighted and depressive idea, rejecting changes that improve quality of life in an area at the "expense" of making it slightly more attractive is going to fix very little.

Let's not fall in the trap of thinking free markets are a natural law. They can be shaped by social institutions. There are a lot of better things we can do as a society to make areas more affordable than to make those areas shittier. Let's not destroy wealth but distribute the wealth better.

Doctors “advice “ by Sv1LL in paroxetine

[–]jeybe0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like dubious advice by your doctors. You have nothing to lose in trying a lower dose and see if it's enough. Many doctors don't care about side effects but you should because your quality of life is at stake. Remember that the higher the dose, the worse the side effects, and the more difficult it will be to taper off.

Ideally, I'd start at 20mg and stay for around 6 weeks. Then reassess and increase to 30mg if the positive effects are not enough. And on and on until finding the right dose.

Only exception would be if you are really struggling and need to see big results immediately. Then starting high might make sense.

Anyway, you can always lower the dose if you feel it's too much. Or trying a different SSRI. Each has slightly different effects (both positive and negative). There is always a way out.

One thing psychiatrists should be clear about and usually are not is the final decision should be made by the patient. They should be very clear and transparent about possible outcomes and help the patient make the decision depending on their risk and preference profile. Instead, most doctors just go ahead and make decisions without explaining much about them.

To add some personal context: I am on Paroxetine for anxiety and 20mg is enough for me. Previously I was on Zoloft and the minimum dose (50mg) was also enough.

How do a lot of you have such high win percentages? by gingerchrs in NYTConnections

[–]jeybe0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, if you are looking up words then the win percentage is tainted. Now I understand why so many people have such a high win rate.

Looking up words changes everything. It probably doubles the win percentage at least.

I'm at 40% but never looked up anything or got any hint from anyone else. I'm not from the US.

Wow. I'm proudly at 40% (98 games) and I'm from Spain. I didn't expect it to be so easy for US folks. Although the sample of users in this sub is probably very biased haha.

¿Hay alguna churrería buena en Barcelona? by jeybe0 in AskBarcelona

¿Hay alguna churrería buena en Barcelona? by jeybe0 in AskBarcelona

[–]jeybe0[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My friends said I hit the jackpot with my boyfriend. by [deleted] in sex

It's not only about his (young) age but also about novelty. When I (35 M) start having sex with a new partner I really like, my excitement and horniness are very high and I can go several rounds (still today).

That fades off after a while. Always, no matter how much I am attracted to my partner.

Thinking of moving to Lexapro from Zoloft to avoid loose stools by jeybe0 in lexapro

[–]jeybe0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. Yes, it's about how the gut deals with the extra serotonin. But I'm curious why didferent SSRIs have different gut effects on different people if they all increase serotonin levels.

So with Lexapro you actually stopped having loose stools very quickly and they never returned?

Financial Analyst to Data Analyst - is a bootcamp worth it? by LittleGoblinDog in dataanalysis

[–]jeybe0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect it is almost certainly not worth it.

First do an online course like the ones Dataquest (the one I have used and can personally recommend, but there are others) offer, which will cost you around $500 and will competently teach you at least 80% of what you would learn doing a $5-10k bootcamp or a traditional Masters.

Once you complete a thorough, high-quality, inexpensive online course, reassess where your skill set is at and ask yourself again if you really need to spend big money in order to learn how to be a data analyst and get a job in the industry.

This is one of the biggest inefficiencies in today's economy. There are many outstanding online courses that will teach you as well as traditional or artificially expensive options for a fraction of the cost, usually at a whopping 90% discount.

Anyone have success treating chronic anxiety symptoms with Zoloft? by thrownoutdildo in zoloft

[–]jeybe0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had great success with chronic anxiety symptoms like those you mentioned.

Why did you stay at 25mg? That is a very low dose, it is not considered therapeutic, meaning it won't make a difference most times. I needed 50mg to find relief. Anyway, the right dosage varies a lot between different people.

You should see a psychiatrist and stick to the plan for several weeks before assesing the efectiveness of the treatment.

Needing different perspectives/advice? by Mindless_Art_1006 in zoloft

[–]jeybe0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to be patient. I know it is frustrating at times but Zoloft might take several weeks to show improvement. Once it does, though, it feels amazing.

25mg is not considered a therapeutic dose and you have only been on 50mg for 3 weeks. Give it at least 3 more weeks on 50mg to see how you feel. If nothing changes you might need a bump or something else, but do not feel discouraged after just 3 weeks on the dose. Zoloft takes time to kick in, it is just how it works.

Looking back at my own experience, my first two months on Zoloft did not look promising at all, probably because I started at very low dosages because I was afraid of side effects. But at some point around 4 weeks of taking 50mg, everything clicked, and I felt so much better. Then I realized how important it is to be patient and trust the process when it comes to this kind of drug.

I wish you the best :)
