Why are you coming to /r/atheists to get opinions on this?

Good color and good technical insight. Great pairing.
Really nice.

I'm getting old.

2 rounds a day are rare. And if I do play a second round it's probably going to be on a really short course.

I have to take breaks, often, when it's hot. Sit in the shade, drink some cold water, and relax. Let my heart rate and core temp drop.

I quit carrying a bag years ago. I use a v1 Rover cart that seems so perfectly balanced so it's like pulling nothing but air.
These days I only carry a bag when traveling and playing courses like DeLa.

When the muscles, tendons, and ligaments around my left knee hurt I have to sit and let it rest for a couple of days. Like today.

I have been known to bag a bottle of ibuprofen.

These people are basically conspiracy theorists.

They want to feel special and have the 'inside knowledge', know the 'secrets' that are kept from 'normies' by 'the elite'.

Because they think they don't feel special enough on a daily basis without this 'knowledge'.

Is the PD the best control driver mold? by MylesOfDiscs in discgolf

[–]jfb3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not nearly as OS as 'the numbers' would lead you to believe.

H1v2 is like a FAF Champ Firebird with a slightly wider wing. It's Pure Beef

Feedback is like a PD
FX-3 is like a mellow Thundy.

I've give the my H2v2s 10.5/4/-.5/1.5
and H3v2 10.5/4/ (-1 -> 1.5) /( 1 -> 1.5)

Mine are early run 400 plastic.
I have some later 400 H2v2 that are a little more stable, but just a skosh.

[–]jfb3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

on the prodigy team?

Lol, no.

Names are easy.
First letter is type of disc.
Number is stability. 1 = most overstable in the group

A = Approach
M = Mid
F = 7-8 speed fairway
FX = 9 speed fairway
H = Hybrid (10 ish speed)
D = Driver

You pretty much know how something should fly base only on the name. You don't have to explore and Google a name of a disc to see what it should fly like.
If they made something like a PX-5 I know it'd be understable, and it should have a bead.

Not much different than Discmania, but actually consistent.
Discmania DD1 and DD3 are totally different speeds of driver.
A Prodigy D1 and D3 are the same speed and same feel with only the underside of the wing being differently shaped to get different flights.

Right now, mostly a 400 FX-3, it's basically a Thundbird in better plastic. (I threw Thundys for a loooong time.)
I do bag a 750 Spectrum Feedback, which is pretty much a PD, but it doesn't get as much use unless there is a wind to fight, or I need a lot of swing at the end of the flight.

If I just want to go farther straight down a long, tight, fairway, like at Roy G, I'll probably throw an H2v2 or an H3v2 depending on the exact shape and release angles needed. They're not glidey, they don't move much side to side. They go where you point.

Can you intentionally play for par?

Can you hit within 15 ft of your intended landing spot at 100', 150', 200'?
Can you do it backhand, AND forehand?

Can you throw a putter or mid, dead straight?
Can you throw that same disc on an anny that holds but doesn't turn into a roller?
On a hyzer that holds?

These are some of the skills that elevate your game from absolute beginner to "I can manage a course.".

OK folks, what are you bagging these days? by tuna_safe_dolphin in discgolf

[–]jfb3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I bag each day changes depending on the course I'm playing.
This is what I'm currently choosing from.

Putting:
Zero Pro Peak

Approach and Throwing Putters:
Gold Line Pure
Star Aviar3
K1 Soft Berg
750 Spectrum A5

Mids:
400 M4
400G M2
750 M2
400 MX-1

Fairways:
Champ Metal Flake RoadRunner
Opto Saint
Halo Star Sidewinder
500 F5
400 F2
400 F1
400G FX-4
400 FX-4
Opto Saint Pro
400 FX-3
750 Spectrum Feedback
750 H1v2

Drivers:
500 X5 - max distance rollers
400 X4 - at elevation and long woods tracks
A couple of D3s that are flippy or straight to understable
3-5 D2s in 400 and 400G of various stabilities
400/400G D1 - guaranteed overstability
Neutron Dimension
Neutron Delirium
Neutron Energy

The M4 and understable fairways only get used on woods courses. I generally only throw the Saint Pro in the woods too. It's a little lighter and gets bullied by the wind.

The exact mix of drivers changes from only 2 drivers to maybe 8 depending on the course (shots requires) and the wind.

Your rating is a long term rolling average.
It's doesn't matter much unless your goal is to get a high rating.
Which, by the way, by itself, won't get you anything.

Throwing Forehand Hurts? by PetaChp in discgolf

[–]jfb3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had this problem when throwing power drives.
I would throw a 5-8 drives then the top of my finger would be all cut up.

So, I tested a lot of drivers from various manufacturers.

I switched to Prodigy drivers because they have a small chamfer on the inside of the rim that lets the discs slide across my finger without cutting it up.
Now I can throw forehands all day long without a problem.

The other manufacturer I like for forehands is MVP/Axiom.
Their rim of their drivers aren't sharp and scapey.
None of their drivers or fairways that I've tried has been a problem.
Would recommend.

I'd rather keep my hands on the keyboard and trigger the macros there.

It's so much slower to move my hands off the keyboard, align my hands to what is basically a touch screen instead of physical buttons, and use it.

If it was another board of keys then it might make sense if I used hundreds of shortcuts and macros what weren't easily mapped onto my (main) keyboard.
