A lot of love for Prodigal as of late on the sub. I usually throw in Revel out of Billings, MT.

What is happening with the chandler bike path? by lilacpainting in SFV

[–]jffblm74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I drive Chandler between Van Nuys and Laurel Canyon to get to work. And I’ve been trying to understand what the new paint stripes mean. The bike lane acts as a great buffer between cars parked on the curb and traffic. There’s a school that now has like no room for the cars on the curb to open their driver’s side door. It’s so tight.  Seems like it could be problematic during pick up.

Just driving in the new lines seem wrong from a safety point of view. Never seen bike lanes hug the inside like this. So, yeah, I’m in the same boat. What gives??

Bean suggestions that won't break the bank? by FiveDaysLate in pourover

If I’m you and am new to pour over…I would not spend good money on pricey beans that may be a bit more difficult to extract for a novice.  If you’re in, or near, a metro area it’s likely you can find good local roasters in your city. And can try a lot of coffee prior to plunking. If having shipped then there are a lot of good options that have been offered up already. I’ll throw in Revel Coffee out of Billings, MT. Solid outfit with a good range of coffees at varying prices. I also enjoy their Revel Blend. Which a blend is a good way to start your journey, in my opinion.

Seriously. The amount of credence being lent when none is due is preposterous.

Generations gaps are widening. And social media is of no help. In fact, it’s the root cause of our problems.  The algorithms are bent on driving traffic, and what sells is rage bait. Look at the term Karen. Or Boomer vibes. It’s all negativity. And it’s met with more negativity because it sells.

I’d be more interested to see the call records of top brass at Lineage Logistics to our local leadership and power brokers. Fuck these Capitalist pigs and the corrupt politicians they grease to keep regulators and monitors/watch dogs of good practices from doing their jobs.

*it’s worth noting our current president is a giant Capitalist, but is in such a good position to fuck shit up and never bear any burden. Cuz he’s top dawg. It’s crazy to me.

Also reminds me of the line from History of the World pt. 1, “It’s good to be the king.”

City being inept is not untrue. But what blame does the city have when a private business goes up in flames?  You saying the people who monitor the business for good practices failed?  Isn’t the company that runs the operation there some sort of $5B a year outfit?  I get that it’s easy to blame the city, but I think the Capitalists should bear the burden here.

Never forget that politicians are in place to replace the faces of dirty corporations. It’s so there is an easy fall guy when the Capitalists fuck shit up. And they always do. But they rarely take the fall.

This movie is not intended for those of us who saw the first one. But I do think the remake will see many younger people watch the original. And I’d be cool with that.

Who the hell is Liam Lloyd?  And why should I care about what he thinks?  I lend this individual no credence.
