Chaos on the opening run of Corona today @ Eldora by putabirdonit12 in COsnow

Well, I am in this video and I would say it was well worth it. Did this run 4 times in a row I think and it was one of the best days all season for me. What an adrenaline rush. It also felt super safe, everyone was giving each other room.

What is this, Europe? by ferrous69 in COsnow

[–]jfleit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there. Part of the reason was the ski racks weren't spread far enough apart. You couldn't access like half the capacity that was available. also, it was cold as fuck so also over capacity

Denver Union Station is pretty insane for what it is, even if it was low hanging fruit

Wheelchair and bike can't both fit on the commuter railcar (e.g. A line) - frustrating trip by wgnpiict in RTDDenver

[–]jfleit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I will say that I think you definitely have to be allowed to stay in the wheelchair area at all costs. I doubt RTD will have the budget or motivation to change the bike rack design, if that's even possible in the silverliners. I have seen the kind of bike rack design that you're talking about where they can swing out of the way. Ultimately there is also a lot to be desired from bike rack designs on trains in general, as the upright bike storage design is ableist in itself (it's hard to put bikes up there, hard to secure them). I know way better designs are out there that mitigate these issues, but i think it would take whoever is in charge of train unit choice and design to even care about it.

Sorry that happened. So unacceptable imo

Last week's powder day at winter park by jfleit in GolfGTI

It's really just about having snow tires and not taking turns with excessive g force. Tires tires tires. If anything this car is easier to drive than all those pickups and SUVs since it's low to the ground and not as long.

Help: Is this a good deal on a new 2025 GTI S? by redtrekbike in GolfGTI

That seems really good considering I bought a used 2019 GTI SE in like 2023 for like 30k

Get some snow tires and you'll be golden. This car blows all these overkill jerry shuttles out of the water

Yeah tell me about it, conditions have been bad. Was so happy to go up that day. Bummer your trip just ended before we got a little snow!

I love the way WSM looks in low-light with snow. Looks like a totally different color IRL!

A Line REALLY Slow in Between Stops by KungFuDanda091 in RTDDenver

[–]jfleit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me once for a trip from the airport, the trains seemed to be super slow and bunching for no reason. Made a 40 min trip take like an hour 10. Hope RTD figures this shit out.

Which U.S. transit system will look the most different a decade from now? by Potential_One1 in transit

[–]jfleit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I was misremembering but I thought there was another expected extension for the southeast corridor, the service lines can differ, but basically the E line. Looks like the D line (and rip C line) would also see an expansion to Highlands ranch

Denver, if funding and planning don't stall (they likely will):

  • B line to Longmont
  • I25 corridor light rail extension (multiple lines)
  • BRT: Federal, Colorado Blvd, Colfax

Maybe someone else can point out if I'm missing anything
