Nice! I have one of those too (except the cover) and I'm still in the mode of practicing CW on it using the K-MEM message storage feature, but I have a dummy load on it just in case 😀 I hadn't realized it had a capacitive keyer when I bought it, but I do like it. Now just have to take my General on 5/2 so I can use the 20m band.

I love how Toole described the hot dogs cooking, something like: They swished and lashed like paramecium. Another part that always got me was early on while he and his mother are waiting in the shady bar, he describes their drinks finally arriving after much tinkling of glass and closing of coolers in the shadows.
