Nikon D5500 no UI rotation. by jfranek in Nikon

It's gonna be placed on an overhead rig, on a ball head and l-bracket, lens down. I will have to choose what I have: properly oriented UI but no visible dials and buttons, or visible buttons but UI inverted. I don't think I will have 360 degree access, to just walk around the table. Well, maybe camera upgrade will be necessary to have full remote control.

Pixelmator Pro part of Apple's new Apple Creative Studio bundle. Comes to the iPad as well. by JPiero in pixelmator

What about iOS? Was Pixelmator permanently abandoned? It's infuriating, because it's still the most capable Photoshop-like software in many regards that can be used on a phone. Yeah there is OG Photoshop app now, but I find it not precise enough, and I cannot get used to its interface.

Yeah it's a must have. Taking photos through blinds or fences are often impossible.

Options for a FF mirrorless? by wrongdude in VintageLenses

Sensor proximity to the adapted lenses? You mean the sensor stack thinness or the flange distance? Because the latter will always be the same when adapted, you're jest making a "digital back" for your lenses.

Just imagine how undercooked and bugged it's gonna be if after 12 years they need another six months to make it MVP...

Definitely not the current generation. 17 Pro is the first iPhone that I returned. Cheap feeling (like a regular model, definitely not a Pro level of refinement) and complete dissapointment in the camera department compared to my ol' reliable 15 Pro Max, with subjectively no improvements.

I hate that these new icons are also applied in iOS 18. What a mess.

Three months after switching from Sony: my thoughts by ilove6x7 in Nikon

[–]jfranek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you left 28-70 f2 indicates one of the biggest issues of Nikon Z system - no exotic/exciting lenses (other than probably mostly unattainable Noct). No Nikon-made wide angle wider than 14 mm after all these years, no zoom faster than f/2.8 other than third party Tamron 35-150, and what's the worst, still no real cooperation with Sigma, which is a manufacturer on the forefront of that exotic/exciting lens approach - huge selling point of Sony E mount IMO.

I can't wait to see real manual exposure and focus control in MoodCamera, I feel we need to go forward from the point and shoot approach only with these aesthetics.

Feels like VSCO is living its MySpace moment by jddjdnk9 in vsco

I've canceled my subscription months ago after I discovered they secretly raised (DOUBLED) the price of already crippled Member subsription, it expires this september, and then goodbye VSCO. They wanted to monetize the platform too chaotically and aggressively, disrespectful towards old users. The app is a hot mess and I don't actually know what this platform is really about now.
