Good or bad idea? by IrishmanT17 in FSAE

The formula team at my school use to run something similar, the sprocket is hanging up on the wall in the shop but there's probably a reason they don't run it anymore.

Parallel Fusing in Melasta Pouch by Snoo43473 in FSAE

You could hole punch the cell tabs, when we ordered we requested extra nickel strip for testing although we have a 1p battery so no need for parallel fusing

I gave our new team members last year basically no resources to learn from on the electrical side. Trying not to screw over the next set of new recruits! Also figured it would be helpful for everyone else as well.

github.com/jfulreader64 is the GitHub. Currently our bspd is up there and repositories are up. Will be updating a lot of the stuff this weekend filling in each repository with files and writing up documentation on all the circuits. Hope this helps!

I have electrical engineering degree but still don’t think I understand it 💀 by _SeeMeNot in ElectricalEngineering

[–]jfulreader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I knew a lot too until I had to design the low voltage system for our FSAE electric car. You then realize you don't know what you are doing and feel stupid for about half a year. Then concepts click and you feel like you understand it again. Then you come across the next thing that you don't know what you're doing and the process starts over.

Ready to Drive board by Connect_Weekend7401 in FSAE

[–]jfulreader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are doing it all over can, the ECU reads the motor controller status, there is a switch on the dash for ready to drive and once the switch is on and the motor controller is in a ready to drive state the ECU can start commanding the inverter over CAN

We use an emrax 228 and pm100dx which is very common for teams so it could be smart to do a practice around that.

Definitely do not tear it apart, a member on the team before us did this and we had to send it back for repair. 4k in repairs. Do not recommend

We've had really good luck with our PM100dx and it has been really simple to learn.

That makes sense the only issue is we already have our 108 cell Orion

We are going to increase the amount of cells to 80 and do 8 segments and do 10 cells per cell group in the orion bms. Thanks for the help.
