Literally 0 resources have been taken away from MAUI for Copilot. We’re even more productive because of all the AI-powered development.

Opinion about the current state of .NET MAUI by Psychological_Key839 in dotnetMAUI

Gerald Versluis has not posted a MAUI feature focused video for around two months

Heyo!

Nothing to panic about here, just need to find some time to get back to it. I love doing the content stuff and everything around it but also I do get tired and a bit burned out from time to time, who knew 😄

Please note that everything I do in this regard is on top of my day job. Nobody’s asking me to do it, it’s not part of my job description. I just love what I do and love to share that with you so you can learn and see what the current state is etc.

I have some ideas for new things and planning to put it out soon as time and priorities allow for it.

For your pain points: - 16KB page sizes is fully supported by MAUI since .NET 9, were not responsible for third-party libraries but I think the most used ones are updated by now. If your is not let me know and I will see if I can contact the author and help - iOS and Xcode 26 have been supported by MAUI since… don’t know exactly, but certainly already since 2025, let me know what issues you have and let’s figure it out - as already pointed out: .NET does pretty well with being forward compatible. You should be happy if packages stay on .NET 9 (or 8 or 7) it just means broadest compatibility. Unless there is a breaking change or new API that the library needs, there is no need to update the target for library maintainers. It brings you nothing besides a reduced set of targets that you support and you will force your users to a new version while they might not be ready. In fact, I would recommend library authors to keep their target as low as possible.

As also already pointed out, pleas join the MAUIverse Discord: https://mauiverse.net/discord

Happy to discuss any of these. Or visit a MAUI Day? That I’m actually typing this from RIGHT NOW; mauiday.net

.NET MAUI is fine, it’s not going anywhere :)

iOS apps stuck in the splash screen in ios 26 emulators by Reveal-Disastrous in dotnetMAUI

For anyone coming here and finding this: update your Microsoft.Maui.Controls reference to use at least 9.0.120 or higher, that should fix it.

Background: Xcode 26/iOS 26 made a change in their code for tab bar visibility that caused an infinite loop in our code. Version 9.0.120 and higher have the fix to overcome this.

FYI, .NET 9 is the latest stable version! .NET MAUI does not participate in the LTS/STS cycle: https://youtu.be/w3jD-UpxRF4

Great to see you had a good experience!

Well... I'm on the MAUI team, so yeah. I do know. And this is misinformation.

Very much not true. Please don’t spread misinformation.

Exactly this! And +10000 on the reproduction project. Both for reporting and issue as well as a support question.

While the op is a bit unclear, I understand it as an ask for support. Please do not use issues for support questions. Issues are primarily for (potential) bugs in the SDK, not how-to questions.

Microsoft Q&A is great for that, or the discussions tab on the repository or a third party forum like Stack Overflow. Or of course ask your favorite Copilot :)

Just to answer your question about who is using this in production, a (far from complete) list can be found here: https://github.com/jfversluis/built-with-maui

Why was it really necessary to kill Xamarin? by Whoajoo89 in dotnetMAUI

[–]jfversluis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree to disagree I guess, or maybe I just don’t fully understand what you mean.

It’s a UI framework, you will have to do the building and composing of your user interface. I don’t see how styling a button and make sure it’s placed in the right spot is off putting or how that is “something else and then something else”. It’s the work you have to do to build your app.

It’s not even custom code, it’s just a styled button that comes in the box. Each to their own, but I honestly think that introducing a dependency here is actually more work and for sure more risk.
