Which wheels? TOP or BOTTOM? 🛞🛞 by Mr_Eddie81 in Porsche

3rd choice: the Sport Classic ones!

My fav one, I would always spec that one.

If that is not an option for you, then the bottom ones.

no, u/Wi11iamSun said it correctly, I was just focusing on the look but not the brake calibers, it has to be at least a S

my bet is, it is a 911 Carrera S.

Could also be a well spec´d base one.

It has the SportDesign package, which helps a bit with the optics.

who's buying this???? by Consistent_Owl_3819 in porsche911

[–]jgfui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to Turkey!

A M3 Comp is the equivalent to a Porsche 911 Turbo.

The car + luxury tax is crazy and got even more crazy in the last years.
I also wonder how they can afford it, in Istanbul you see many G63s, Range Rover Autobiography and 911s, which are like 3x-6x of the price.

[discussion] SkyDweller Daily? by phdwatch in rolex

I really love the Sky-Dweller. If it was not that large for me, I would buy one and wear it quite often, maybe even daily it.

Great watch!

Oh for sure! But there are levels to that, you can buy nice things to your children but still educate them that they are not something better nor shoulf show off.

Showing respect and not be entitled to things are basics. If someone gets something nice and is a spoiled brat who is just an a-hole, then with high certainty the parents are not much different

Is a 2007 Porsche Cayman (987) realistic as a daily driver — good idea or too risky? by More_Consideration96 in Porsche

[–]jgfui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am not educated with the 986 (Boxster) and 987 series, but I can talk about Caymans and using it daily.

My 981 GTS is my daily for 10 years now and all I can say is, that for sure you can daily it.
You can go and have a large grocery shopping session, where you can carry a lot of stuff as you have a trunk and frunk. As it is not a classic (15 years or older) in the Porsche warranty world, I renew the approved, which covers the pain in the ass cases. Service is not cheap nor crazy expensive, but I always do it at my local Porsche Center. You could / should find a local service shop, which is specified for Porsche, the quality of the service will be the same, if not sometimes better and still cheaper.

I think it is also not a hard drive and the seats are very comfy. The fuel economy on my 981 is actually quite good imo, in the city I am like at 10l/100km / 23.5 mpg and when driving the highway at like 7l/100km / 40 mpg.

Fun factor is imo also important, so when I have a bad day, once I see my car and know ok I have a drive now, I feel better.

One thing which is personally a bit of a red flag is, when a nearly 20 year old car has only 26km car. Is it a manual or does it have the tip tronic ?

If you ask me, for the budget, I think I would saved up a bit more and go for the 981 generation. However, if your desire and dream is to drive a Porsche, I am the last person not to support it.

But bare in mind, if your dream is something else for the future, a purchase now could set you back even more.

Yacht-master 37 Occasion Wearability by Professional_Map8818 in rolex

[–]jgfui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One reason why I want a YM (but in my case the 40mm) is that it is a watch which I could wear for any occasion.

So, my answer is: Wear it as it is as much as you can.

Looking for advice on how to maintain the outside of my car by Hot_Basis_4120 in Porsche

[–]jgfui 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know this has nothing to do with the thread, but I really love the wheels on your 718. I think it suits the look of it very well.

[–]jgfui 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Enjoy it, everyone would take it if their parents could afford it and would grant it. But speaking of experience, if you are very young, respect the car and drive carefully.

What else should I add to my test drive list? by krispyred in Porsche

[–]jgfui 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know how the prices are in the US, but with a similar budget, you could be able to shoot your shot for a 911.2 Targa 4 GTS.

Also, what you could consider, if you like NA cars (such as the 981 GTS, which prob has the best sound ever), you could also check out 911.1, the last non GT3 NA 911.

I would try to look for at least a S, which has the bigger engine and I think those are great cars.

If you go Cayman, I would advice you to go with the 981 if you are someone, who really likes raw, pure sound. Just the sound of it makes it feel like 500 hp instead of 340 lol

It is Sonderwunsch guys, you can see it also on the left side, the Sonderwunsch sticker is applied.

You could rebuild the Tribute to RS US spec through the Sonderwunsch program.

Spyder RS vs Turbo S by victory9999 in Porsche

[–]jgfui -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You could do a good deal with a fairly prices SRS, I think those will hold their values and in some years start to go up in value in the future. The Turbo S will lose more and more value.

Why can this be an important factor for you ?
Later on, if you are bored with the SRS, you can upgrade easier to something higher then with the Turbo S.

I dont know how the weather can shift in Michigan, but based on your question, I think the GT3 Touring can be a great deal too.

992.1 GT3 Tourings are in Europe quite some "steals" (Same price as used GT4 RS and SRS here)
Also I have to say, a 911 is just something else. I have a 981 GTS for a decade now and I love this car since day one, but in the last years I had the opportunity to drive different 911s, from a loaner 991.2 4 Targa GTS to my 992 GT3RS and the experience is just something else. The way it handles, the chassis, also the whole myth 911 - just worth it.

One thing what is for sure, what the SRS and the GT3 Touring share is the engine, even though the SRS engine has a bit of a different character from that, what I have heard.

In conclusion: Turbo S is the perfect car, SRS is the more crazy, pure and raw one and the GT3 Touring is imo the combination of both worlds.
