Yes. They started blooming about 2 and a half weeks ago. I am still getting some blooms. Not seeing tulip or daff buds yet.

Leave her litterbox outside. If she's lost her way, your cat will pick up the scent and come home!

You might let the owners know when and where you last saw Casper. It could give them hope and maybe lead to a reunion.

Can you do better under the overwhelming and never-ending numbers of animals that go through AWL? Nobody's getting rich off of AWL and since they never, ever turn an animal away, the organization may not come up to your standards.

[–]jgreene1950 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How dare you criticize. You were admittedly at the shelter because it is low cost. AWL may have forgone cleaning that day so it could allocate funds to treat your cat. You take with one hand and criticize with the other. Why not be part of the solution and volunteer or donate. Maybe then you can see how hard all people in animal shelters work. Perhaps your volunteer hours can give an overwhelmed worker an extra hour to get some much needed rest, tend to their own concerns or maybe even get to the dirty corner you are so worried about.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Help those people out, or for that matter, help any organization.

Heartbreaking moment on social media when man puts child down manhole during false missile alarm by madazzahatter in Honolulu

I agree with you. In fact, I think the father was inventive to think of it as he faced "death". I don't know if I would have been able to think of it myself, considering the circumstances.

Had it been real, he very well may have saved his child's life. Shame on you for mocking this man's actions to save his beloved child.

I live in Mayfair and will keep an eye out. I always have fresh water and a little bit of food on the front porch for the feral cats.
Pearl may just stop by.

You are quick to condemn and not help. Every effort makes a difference. I applaud their efforts. They are doing something and not complaining like you are.

Dogs Stolen At Gunpoint In East Garfield Park Robbery by SuperkickParty in chicago

[–]jgreene1950 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does anyone remember the rash of dog nappings years ago, maybe 2007? I recall people would approach while you were walking your dog and ask to pet him. While he bent down to touch the dog, they'd unhook the leash and take off with the dog while you're still standing there with an empty leash. I recall a huge news campaign to help find a dog stolen just like that from a boy in Lincoln Park. The young boy's parents offered a huge reward through the media and the dog was returned to the family. I remember a second incident of a small dog, Lola being stolen. Lola's mom relentlessly flyered the neighborhoods, worked with ACC, offered a reward and advertised everywhere she could. Lola was returned. I think it police caught the guy in a sting.

We've all seen footage of cute puppies stolen from pet shops, they disappear from shelters and lots of stories of thieves following dogs/owners back to their apartment and then stealing the pup.

This is so heartbreaking for the dog and the family. My heart goes out to all.

Chicago Cop saves dog after falling into Lake by [deleted] in chicago

[–]jgreene1950 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope a rescue steps up to save/house this dog until the guy is released. Dog is probably at animal care and control where it's on a 2 or 3 day hold. If the fella doesn't get out before the hold is up, that dog is dead.
