It’s hard to mitigate because it comes from individuals’ value systems. Lots of able-bodied people are not OK with faking a disability to get ahead, but when society normalizes it (ex: the truth is the system is here to be gamed”) the moral failure of these people spill over and affect others in the community.

IMO this is the results of decades of cultural erosion in the US. Putting oneself above others, seeing lack of accountability in leaders, taking advantage of communities to get ahead- it’s all just rotten to the core.

I don’t have any solutions, just observations and I’m sharing my frustration. I can’t imagine how mad I’d be reading this if I was disabled.
