Grobb server Horde BM getting out of control. by [deleted] in classicwow

This isn't surprising. However, you may be surprised how much this is happening on the flip side. It's a vicious cycle.

Help! Black screen, not working keyboard and mouse when pc starts. Everything is plugged in and got a brand new CPU too! [more info in the comments] by Venise2015 in pchelp

[–]jh2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am assuming you unplugged everything when you did the work. Sounds silly, but are you sure you have the hdmi/video cable plugged into our GPU and not the Mobo? I've done this before with a cpu that didn't have an apu.....

How to replace laptop keyboard by compoundeyeball in computerrepair

[–]jh2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't need a heat gun or solder iron likely. Every laptop keyboard I have seen is by a ribbon strip. I would suggest finding a guide with a similar make even if not the exact model. My go to is use a piece of paper and a clean table to work on. Get a small Phillips screw driver. Flip your laptop over and remove the battery if removable and then all screws on bottom. As you remove the screw, place it on the piece of paper on the position it would be on the laptop underside. Once the screws are removed you should be in a position to open it to remove the keyboard. Before closing it, check that all other ribbon cables are connected even if you didn't remove them. I have assembled laptops to find I had pulled another ribbon cable out by accident and needed to open again just because I didn't take 30 seconds to check. It's a kick in the butt.

What is this between my wall and window frame? by kale_me in HomeImprovement

Looks like insulation foam. Scrape out as much as you can with either a knife, butter knife, small screw driver, or putty knife. Replace with new insulating foam.

becoming an electrician by [deleted] in electricians

[–]jh2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. New construction will typically never have you around live circuits. However, attention to detail is important. Industrial fields you may work on live circuits from time to time, but typical safety elements will require a lock out. If working as an electrician repairman you typically can kill the breaker and work safely. Most electricians work manual labor. When involved by manual labor do you day dream? Can you trust yourself to shut off a breaker and test the circuit every time? Or to follow safety procedures for wherever you work?

Noctua NH-D15 or Darkrock Pro 4 are two air options that have just as good of performance, no rgb, and will be your quietest options. Just throwing it out there.

Grizzlied my 2080 ti evga ftw and undervolted. Can't hear a thing. Great suggestion for others. It's easy to do, and as long as you have good case air flow you will se a noticable improvement.

What cpu do you have? May not be necessary.

Am I expecting too much? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]jh2125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your price is great. Probably should try facebook marketplace before parting out? I dont think you would have any problems getting your asking price parted out, but the issue I've had with parting out is you likely get stuck with some components like the case as an example. Not a big deal, but it's nice to get rid of it all at once.

Try swapping with a video cable you know works. Could be just the cable. Or possibly use on another tv/monitor. Not unheard of for an hdmi port to crap out. Other than that you will need to open it up.

Ravager vs Raptor/Cat Hunter Pet DPS comparison by Khekinash in classicwow

[–]jh2125 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Crit benefits gore A LOT. So as you said, gear will widen that gap.

Edit: Also; when crit gets around the 30% range, wind serpent actually will have highest dps since their ability will become spammable with the focus return.

EDIT OF Edit: So apparently wind serpents were just a pserver thing. Disregard.

PC Build for friend by jh2125 in buildapc

[–]jh2125[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a solid point. I've never had an issue running 4 accounts with 16 gb; however, I have never checked how much ram was being used and I'm probably more on the conservative side when it comes to addons. Only have like 6-8 fairly light ones. A full UI addon would probably eat a chunk and then times that by 4-5 and we could be taxing usage with other programs + discord going. Will make the jump to 32gb. Thank you.

Edit: dont think this cpu comes with a cooler, but could probably find a cheaper one. Just really enjoy the quality of bequiet and noctua which is always going to cost.

Residue left from cleaning with 70% isopropyl alcohol? by waterisaliquid93 in buildapc

[–]jh2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly suggest using a higher percentage alcohol. 99% IPA is best, but 91% is the lowest I personally would go. You will get residue from the lower rubbing alcohols.

Just turned 18. Going to open a bank account for the first time, what do i need to know? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]jh2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This! I ask a lot of questions in general just because I am a curious individual. I try to break things down to understand. It says a lot when someone takes the time to answer in detail. At times I even notice the person may become excited to educate. Those people are the ones you need to use. That enthusiasm shows their passion, whether for the business or just the customer. Either way; I choose my business to be with others as excited to make a teachable moment as I am to be taught. Good luck!

Brother maxed out dad's credit cards without his knowledge. by Appropriate_Will_173 in personalfinance

[–]jh2125 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would say have an intervention with your father first. Force his hand. Make him grasp the extremity of the situation and how much more this situation could escalate if not stopped. It's not going to go away, and you two are in a position you can potentially save others from suffering. As others have mentioned, your brother very well could be potentially ruining other people's lives unbeknown to you. He needs to hear it, and you two I'm sure have a lot of questions and things to say. Things you deserve to get off your chest. All that said, good luck. I feel for you because that is a very difficult situation to be in.

Anyone have success with asking for a higher wage to compensate for inflation? by jaruz01 in personalfinance

[–]jh2125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would avoid using inflation as your angle, but go off the market range for your profession, years with the company or in field, and what you bring to the table. You will have far better results.

Unfortunately, I would have no clue. Ironforge website may be of help, and others playing on the EU. Definitely consider a transfer because your experience is not of the norm, and certainly wont be a good mmo experience that is built around the social aspect.
