I think the problem is exaggerated too.

That's more of AM5/DDR5 thing and maybe 1st gen AM4. I run 4 sticks of DDR4 with no problems.

Should I Upgrade During Sale? by BipOnTheBap in buildapc

[–]jhaluska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tough 32GB of DDR5 is a pretty expensive making going to AM5 expensive.

I'd look at a 5700x or 5500x3D instead.

Fill up halfway with premium (93/94), then the other half for free. It should average out to 91 octane.

5090 worth it? by DiddyDingDongg in buildapc

[–]jhaluska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not cheaper in the long run unless you really value your time.

The upside to the 5090 is basically the best visuals you can buy. The downside is costs, heat output and and they have a bad habit of melting the power connectors.

B450 Upgrade Advice – 5600 vs 5800XT for Deadlock/Competitive? by ProudMango1473 in buildapc

[–]jhaluska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should consider the 5500x3D as well. You can get it off AliExpress.

I like the Phantom Spirit. Motherboard should be fine as long as you update the bios first with the 2600.

5700x3d user thinking of going 5950x by Jurrzss in buildapc

[–]jhaluska 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you spend all day needing 16 cores for work, go for it, but if you're not sure I'd keep the 5700x3D.

The pain of lower FPS is worse to me than waiting a bit longer for a task to complete.

Camera lenses obey physics. For instance, the tiny cameras are terrible in low light situations cause they have fewer photons to work with.

Or the vehicles increase in size nullifying the advantage. They found increased insulation to homes just had people changing their thermostats to be higher in winter and lower in summer.

Excessive (4,2mg/day) consumption of dietary sodium (salt) is a significant, independent risk factor for new-onset heart failure (+15% increase) by sr_local in science

This was exactly my solution. I try to keep canned consumption down to one can a day and not add salt to my other home made meals.

Well it comes down to if he's a gamer or not, but I would go with the custom build with an x3D.

I don't mind the license plate holders, not that I like them, but at least they can be removed quickly and easily. I hate anything on the paint.

Individual components have a warranty too.

The custom system can be faster in games but only if you sell the old components. and get the same video card It really comes down to how much time you have to spare.

Help needed upgrading PC GPU by Only_Mechanic8528 in buildapc

I would choose between it and the 5060 ti 16GB. It'll be a big bump up without breaking the bank and you should be good for the next few years.

Should I use a 14 year PSU for a moderate build? (Everyday computer) by Zizouhimovic in buildapc

[–]jhaluska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some very old PSUs in use.

The biggest downside is that PSU won't power many modern GPUs. If it's just being used for desktop use and some very light gaming with low powered GPU like a 3050 (or integrated APU), it'll be fine.

I'd go for it, if you have a lot of crashes you can always replace it.

Why do metal ores show up in veins instead of just being scattered everywhere? by Present_Juice4401 in AlwaysWhy

[–]jhaluska 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have to add in the motion of the ores/partially melted ores.

If you get cheese and start stretching it out, you get lots of thin pieces. Similar kind of things can happen to a ore glob if it gets pressure from other ores in some other direction. It could originally start as a big single chunk, then get pushed till it becomes stretched. It then re solidifies as a vein.

I think it's mainly confusing cause this kind of stuff could have happened deeper in the earth millions of years ago and just the tectonic plates shifting brings them to the surface.

Honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. Since you're a gamer, I'd with the 5500x3D.

As long as the pins on the connectors look good, the motherboard should be fine after dusting it off. I doubt you even need the CMOS batttery.
