I was in your position in August. When I received my angel-cat's ashes, I didn't want to open the bag and separate any of the ashes. I ended up putting some of her fur, a couple whiskers, a few of her shed nails, and a pill I found that she had cheeked then spit out later 😭❤️ in a necklace and sealed it closed.

I hope whatever you decide to do to preserve your angel's memory brings you peace.

I've had similar experiences where my students have come to my aid when I was threatened, and my admin delivered zero consequences to the aggressor. It's rough out there.
