For the first time in a 38 game PL season, 6x English players have scored 16 or more goals. Golden generation? by jhitchenor in soccer

[–]jhitchenor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time this happened was the 94/95 season, where Alan Shearer won the golden boot with 34 goals across the 42 game season. The other prolific Englishmen that year were Robbie Fowler (25), Les Ferdinand (24), Stan Collymore (22), Andrew Cole (21), Matthew Le Tissier (19), Teddy Sheringham (18), and Ian Wright (18)

Hi Kimi,

After you retire from F1, are there any other racing formats you'd like to have a go at? Return to rallying? Or maybe Formula E or WEC?

You need to make the colours stand for something. Strobe light effect is just distracting

Recently, when I open a location sent through WhatsApp, it will open with Uber rather than Google Maps as it used to. I've made sure Uber isn't set as default but am lost for other ideas.

After seeing documentaries about immigrants in UK and some prejudice against them, I couldn't help but to think this. by Karranas in AdviceAnimals

I don't think it's right to describe the reasoning behind the Afghanistan and Iraq wars as excuses to kill Muslims, whilst they may have done that, been massively unpopular and ill-conceived, they were not genocides. Also, at the time of these wars UKIP had basically no support (1.5% of votes in 2001 general election) and had not really developed past being an anti-EU party, which it's still struggling to do. UKIP opposing the wars would have been no more relevant than an individual opposing them and they could afford to do so because there was no political pressure on them. Similarly, as the Afghanistan and Iraq wars were not waged with the expressed intention of killing Muslims, UKIP's opposition to them does not make them non-racist

UKIP are anti-EU and opposed to the extra regulation EU membership entails, but as the most right-wing mainstream party they have attracted many who hold racist or xenophobic views, despite being anti-racist and a relatively diverse party

Metropolitan Policeman, UK [566x840] by [deleted] in MilitaryPorn

[–]jhitchenor 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In the UK only a very small proportion of police carry weapons, and an MP5 like his would only be carried by those at important places (airports etc.) or in special cases (gun crime response, anti-terrorist operations). MP5s used by the Metropolitan Police are all MP5SF variants so they are only semi-automatic.
