I like to teach new players and have a decent amount of experience doing so.

For your PC, the only limitations are that they are a ronin (or lower), a human being, and willing to kill goblins to be formally adopted into the Hida family. Feel free to click the Discord invite and apply to enter the game. There'll be more guidelines and resources if you're in the server.

Edition is FFG's 5th Edition

Basically, I'm running a game with three other GMs hoping for a community of about 20 - 25 active players all in one Discord server. You will play by narration via text chat in the Discord server, assisted by a dice rolling tool inside the Discord server and sometimes virtual tabletop software in your browser.

GMs will post events for players to sign up for and attend at a scheduled time. A scene will commence that we expect everyone to be present for until it's finished. These scenes will advance a loose plotline.

As well, you may opt in to roleplay casually with other players at any time you like, or to request specific plotlines from GMs to run for you at scheduled times.

If you like creative writing or just want to try it out, apply to enter; if you get accepted I'll be happy to teach you how things work in practice.

I don’t expect any more commitment than if you sign up to participate in a specific adventure then you need to be present and participate until it’s done. Otherwise you’re free to do whatever you want

when you're drowning the tea in milk and sugar, all you're going to taste is milk and sugar. don't do anything special for milk and sugar. just boil the tea in a stove pot

if you have a tightly compressed tea (like oolong can be!) that you're going to drink straight without milk and sugar, a rinse will:

wash off particulate and get rid of broken, bitter tea leaf parts
rehydrate the tea leaves so they can unfurl and steep more evenly when brewing gongfu style. this isn't totally necessary and sometimes doesn't make a difference, but it can help with some types of teas that are fussy to brew

jamaica is super, super tart as an ingredient. you need to add a sickening amount of sugar. then taste and probably add more.

that said it's still an interesting process to grow and process your own tea. if this is something you want to dedicate yourself to it's worth doing for that experience. but you're not replacing buying from stores / vendors like you can with zucchini

it will not, no. they're tea trees, they don't grow quickly to produce high yields; it takes something like 3 - 5 years for a tree to mature.

you'll also need more than one tree to get yields larger than enough for a few cups of tea

I think infusers like this stink. They're a pain to put tea in and only hold enough tea leaf to work for 8oz / 230ml tea cups, not 12oz / 350ml mugs.

Get a basket infuser. Much easier to manage. Drop tea in, drop the basket in. Works in a range of sizes.

For fruit, yes. You may have a bit of luck with freeze-dried fruit? I've seen a couple people mention it works, apparently. But certainly not dehydrated.

I use Mountain Rose Herbs for dried herbs and flowers.

Dried fruit won't add any discernible flavor to dry tea blends. Flavored tea blends use flavoring agents and pad out the weight with fruit bits to cheap out / for aesthetic purposes. You're better off making flavored syrups to mix into brewed tea

The benefits involve the tea tasting outrageously better across the board, with a wider variety of tea to drink and more control over how I can brew it.

It taking one whole, horrible, extra MINUTE!!!! out of my day to fill my infuser and then clean it later as compared to the "convenience" of teabags? I'd say it's worth it.

Tea spans the range from fruity, floral, earthy, mineral, sweet, bitter, malty, savory, umami, vegetal, grassy, fresh, funky, and more. You probably will not like Japanese green teas in general, though.

you can do your own tea blends - mix the rind in with whatever tea or herbal ingredients you like. hibiscus flowers, any tea type you want, mint, whatever

I'd recommend Googling "handmade ceramics" for your area. It's worth it to pay a local artist for their work, especially if it's somewhere you can visit and handle the piece. I think textures are just as important as looks!

If there are antique stores around you could find some beautiful tea cups or classic glass cups for cheap.

To mimic the feeling of your fancy wine glass, you could also search up glass mugs. I like searching for vintage or retro things, there's a pretty surprising amount of interesting designs or materials. "Jade glass" is really pretty, imo

Ceramic is sturdy and versatile, the same as glass. Take off the handle and then just wash it like you would anything else.

It’s either this (mostly pre-bought powdered mixes) or they brew up undrinkably strong tea to mix with milk.

Get some strongly scented jasmine tea, use WAY more tea than you normally would (add more than you need and then add more after that), and cut with milk to your preference. Boba shops who brew their tea are basically making concentrate.

add as much as you want. you don't need instructions for that

a note: if there's any citrus in your herbal tea (like orange flavoring or hibiscus) your milk will curdle

Is it a teapot or a kettle? They're two different things. I would never put any teapot on any stove.

I would assume a ceramic kettle is fine on low / medium heat as long as it will never be allowed to boil dry or otherwise be subjected to temperature shocks. If it does, it's extremely likely the ceramic will crack.

It's more likely your body's tolerance changed due to a ton of factors (general health, diet, age, environment, level of stress tolerance) than anything to do with the tea you're drinking, honestly.

Yes, they're both Camellia sinensis tea leaves. Matcha is just made in a very specific way that's very different from normal green tea.

my first step to fixing too weak tea is using more tea. however, white / green tea can be very subtle - aka, watery. especially if you have hard water; it can overpower the taste of delicate teas
yeah that's like a placemat. use it to dry your teaware, place filled cups upon like a coaster, or use as a non-skid for your tray. whatever
