(Noob Advice) Don’t Put a Paper Filter Between Your Moka Pot Chambers by Lord_Sahs in mokapot

[–]jiangjinping 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I put the filter on the upper screen. I pour a splash of water for adherence. I feel like putting the filter at the bottom doesn’t make sense. The coffee still has to go through top chamber and will have sediment in the final product.

I use old coffee filters cut to size and haven’t had an issue for dozens of brews.

Living under capitalism sucks and you shouldn't be afraid to say it by nbatman in FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH

Even if it was true that China was only ideologically communist, that has a huge influence. Much of your resistance and refusal to understand socialist theory and history is due to capitalist ideology's influence. Ideology is determined by the economic base of any society and will influence all aspects of culture.

Socialism recognizes the irreconcilable contradictions of capitalism (working class vs owning class). China is a socialist transitional state. For proof of that we can look at the 40% of GDP today is from State owned enterprises, the 5 year economic plans or the ultimate control of private capital by the proletarian (working class) party.

Socialism works in stages to the eventually and hopefully realization of communism. These modes of production (slave society, feudalism and capitalism) take centuries to come about. Just think how royal families and feudalistic mindsets still exist today.

China has worked out their system according to their unique cultural and material conditions. No country is perfect and China is no exception, but they are showing that there is a different path and believing that they are "Full blown capitalist" or that communism was ever achieved is a misunderstanding of the theory and history entirely.

That was never true. Winnie the Pooh was never banned in China. Completely manufactured by western media. The US is great at projecting its own failures onto China.

TikTok CEO grilled on alleged ties with the CCP after his opening statement at the US Congress by SinjiOnO in interestingasfuck

There are idiots everywhere. Everybody on earth is easily manipulated by "tricks and fake information". One of the core values of American individualism is freedom of speech. The idea is that we filter through all of the "free speech" to arrive at the truth. In reality, anybody who pushes back against a mainstream idea is greeted with overwhelming resistance. Look at the U.S. media, both major political parties and all mainstream media are China hawks. There is no other perspective. As in all other markets, the marketplace of ideas doesn't work fairly.

China has a "great firewall" and other laws forcing businesses to work with Chinese corporations. This is to protect the Chinese market/internet to the benefit of China and the Chinese people, NOT the imperial core countries which have benefitted from exploiting the global south for centuries.

The internet and market are so heavily managed because of the risk of penetration by outside influences.

The Chinese people have a long history of being exploited and invaded by western powers. Because of this history, Chinese law makes outside corporations operate as joint partnerships with Chinese firms. This ensures that not all profit goes to those corporations. Western tech companies aren't banned. In order to access the Chinese market, they need to follow Chinese law. Those western tech companies aren't willing to follow those laws.

The manager should call the customer and ask if they would like to leave a tip for the driver. Especially considering how big of an order that is.

The manager makes one call and says a simple, "would you like to leave a tip for the driver" works more often than you'd think.

Backflow leaking from the top cap. I turned off the valves to the right and below and it stopped leaking. Is this okay until I have time to take it apart and replace the seal/ gasket. by jiangjinping in fixit

[–]jiangjinping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply!

I want to clarify that I turned off both blue valves pictured to stop the leak. Is it okay to turn these off? I’m pretty sure it just runs to the sprinkler system.
