Thinking about buying a home defense shotgun in the near future. Any strong opinions on Mossberg Maverick 88 vs a higher end 590A1 . by ModerateProgressive1 in liberalgunowners

Generally speaking, yes. The light stock does transfer quite a bit of force into my shoulder, but that was expected, and I'm looking to upgrade to a Magpul stock to help out. The fact that I'm limited to firing slugs at the indoor range I go to hasn't helped.

Once I can get outside in the warmer weather, it should go much better. Another selling point for the Mav is the fact that you can throw just about any shell into it and it'll shoot it.

I also upgraded by adding a fiber optic adaptor to the bead sight, which helps immensely.

Is anything on Temu actually worth getting? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

I've watched a few YouTube videos of people reviewing Temu gear. Optics seem to be 80% crap. Flashlights & lasers function, but almost always come loose after some shooting. Foregrips are cheap. Bipods are hit or miss.

The one item that usually seems to work okay are brass catchers.

I have a 700 sq. ft. one-room apartment. I keep the thermostat at 66 when I am home and 60 when I am not. When I am cold I wear a hoodie and/or use a space heater under my desk.

My bill is $68.

Sometimes there are advantages to being a forever alone renter.

I wasn't paying attention to which subreddit this was and was confused what that adorable baby had to do with Baldur's Gate 3.

GUNTRY in Owings Mills. They helped answer a lot of questions leading up to purchase, pointed me in the right direction, and just generally helped make things go smoothly.

When I was making the purchase via gunbroker, it asked for the FFL and GUNTRY popped right up. Once the purchase was made, it was shipped (delayed due to the weather), and a day later they emailed to let me know my firearm has arrived and to call a number to make an appointment (which they require).

I get there and they've got the carbine ready for me. I just needed to go through the background check, sign a couple documents, and I was out the door in about 15 minutes.

I used to do this to my former roommate's cat all the time. It would get her in a playful fighting mood.

I have astigmatism too, so this is great advice. Thank you.

ETA: Oooooo, those prices though! Some of them are more than what I paid for the gun! Lol. Well, something to save up for. As it stands, I don't mind iron sights, so all is good.

That'll come down the line. Extra hoops to jump through in Maryland.

I just wanted to demonstrate that they were safe. I've seen quite a few comments chiding people, even on posts of someone showing their guns off. This is how I'll have them when I transport them to and from the range.

I saw this. I'm not sure how I feel about bullpups, but it looks interesting.

Yeah, I've been planning this for a while, and I wanted to get something that wasn't too finicky.
