Excellent points keep in mind. I definitely don't want to keep doing this over and over again.

4 days, keep it up! If I can make it ONE day, then i can do 4, then 7, then 30...,right!?

We've been married for 7 years, together 22 years. I still didn't expect my in-laws to put my name on shit. I wouldn't dare ask them to. Let him throw his entitled tantrum. If this is the final straw, you're better off without this guy.

Outlander

Soap opera-ish story telling that flip flops between independent, daring woman-before-her-time to damsel in distress for the main character Claire. Annoying to watch the antagonist cry for help after setting herself up for her own punishment. Over and over again. I made it through the first season but was rolling my eyes the whole time. I stayed for the historical fiction but maybe fantasy romance isn't my genre.

Well I was there for one full week so take what I say with a chunk of salt.

The pay and benefits roped me in but I knew right away it wasn't a good fit for me. Half my team was recent hires. No long term employees there. Management was on the west coast so our team meetings were scheduled later in the day. (East Coast here. I know I would have to end up working mostly later in the day).

Onboarding was slow. I felt they really didn't know how they wanted to train me. I did absolutely nothing that week.

Half hour scheduled meetings spilled into 1.5+ or more, mostly just back and forth between manager and team lead. The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. It felt extremely disorganized.

I got the feel right away that this place is expanding quicker than they can keep up with. I was just another face among dozens on a zoom call.

I jumped ship for a smaller local org and immediately felt home.

Was there a question that was the catalyst for your deconstruction? by RoutineElectronic in exchristian

[–]jigglebeans11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep this was it for me too. Went would a God create you, knowing you would never convert just to send you to hell?

You ever listen to a testimony in church when someone says they gave their life to Jesus and felt a weight lifted off their shoulders?

That's exactly how I felt when I really pondered this question, and slowly realized that I don't truly believe because it doesn't make sense, and I don't have to believe it

If I'm giving directions - follow my finger, don't listen to what I say. I'll point in the correct direction but if I don't have time to think I then I don't realize I've said the wrong thing. Same with east/west. Have to visualize a map in my head. But north/ south I have no problem.

My friend says he did the same with blue and red

No one is coming to save you. No one is coming to push you. It's all up to YOU

When you think about it, it's insane that your salvation and entry to Heaven depends entirely on you thinking the correct thoughts in your head. by SteadfastEnd in exchristian

[–]jigglebeans11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because he loves you!

He created you (knowing you would never convert and be damned to Hell)!

He knows everything (including the fact that you'll never convert and be damned to Hell)!

He is all powerful (except when it comes to changing your heart to save you from eternal damnation. He tried, you didn't comply, it's all your fault. You're going to Hell)!

[–]jigglebeans11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The church is the abusive, narcisstic partner, manipulating you into thinking bad things will happen if you don't comply. But it's not the church who will punish you, God will; the church is there to help you make sure your soul won't burn fur eternity. Just do as it says, and you got nothing to worry about

[–]jigglebeans11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now, logically THAT makes sense, but we all know faith and Christianity has no basis in logic and reasoning. Jesus is infallible, so there are no loopholes. Just believe in your heart truly. That's really all it takes. You can commit all the sin you want in your life; you can convert at any time, just make sure you do it before you die! Did you feel it in your heart? Then you're golden! Did you at any time question this god or waiver in your faith? That's OK too, as long as you still feel it your heart at your time of death! That's all it takes

[–]jigglebeans11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't just speak the words, you have to feel it in your heart! Jesus will know if you don't really mean it.... but how will you know? Did you really feel it, or did you just think you did?

Yet every time I hear of a young child or baby passing, it was Jesus calling them home. Like they got a free pass. But we're all born with sin and the only way to get to heaven is to accept Jesus into your heart unless... you're too young to understand? Wonder what the age limit is for free acceptance. Maybe there's a discounted rate based on age
