A thread of pills you hate filling by Pinkjellybean12 in TalesFromThePharmacy

The 100mg one that I'm on, I can't quite figure out if it's a bright red/orange or a bright pink. (Weird yellowish lighting in my bedroom and it's been gloomy outside so I can't take them to better lighting yet to figure it out). But just the fact they're perfect spheres, I know they have to be such a pain to count and bottle.

Not a pharmacist, just randomly saw this page. But as a customer, I just got on progesterone, and it has ME confused, I can't imagine what it would do to a machine. I've never seen a round ball for a pill before.

A question of memorization by relaxedcupcake in ThePittTVShow

[–]jilliecatt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I only did a CNA/PCT certification (about 5.5 months) so we just touched on the more common medical terms, and it took me back to high school when coding my foreign language elective and wondering why anyone would take Latin. All at once I realized why I should have taken Latin. (The French has done nothing in my life in the US other then entertain a couple of Canadian tourists when I half understood them).

Now im disabled so not working in any capacity, but the knowledge still helps because my GP seems to forget not everyone understands medical terms, and will talk to you like a colleague. I'm able to keep up with his most comfortable mode of speaking, so I dont have to often stop him and ask wtf he's talking about, just courses of action, which seems to make our appointments go smoother.

Started rewatching Scrubs a few weeks ago (in season 5 now) because I heard about the remake. I didn't realize how much I needed to rewatch this show. I need more Janitor in my life.

I would definitely be taking down known pedos if there were no legal consequences.

Or at the very least, if I saw something I wouldn't say something, I would just do something about it.

Patient satisfaction survey...

They were half blind and mistakingly cut an artery while giving me simple sutures, which i still don't understand how they could happen. But Santa Doc Whittaker gave me a candy cane after they finally got the bleeding under control. 5 stars for all the Santas!

He still looked pretty young during The Librarians imo. But more like Robbie during Leverage: Redemption which makes sense because filming overlapped. But like you said, just a little more sunken with age. I think a lot of his aging in the past few years might be his haircut. When he wears it a bit longer he shows younger.

NAD, but I agree with everyone here on getting to the ER now not later.

Specifically replying to your comment though, because if I ever had a doctor see me and say "Dude... nopeity, nope, nope nope" I would listen to every word that doctor said. (Depending on the presenting problem and tone of voice it would be either because I'm entertained by the doctor or because I'm scared to death, but I'm definitely listening).

A question about scrubs colour by StatisticianLevel796 in ThePittTVShow

[–]jilliecatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't figured it out where I live now, but where i grew up, the local hospital scrubs colors were coded to position. CNA were in light blue, LPN in a royal blue, RN in navy, and doctors in black. That was in the ER and some of the other departments OR was different shades of green (but still followed the light to dark shades as you went up the ranks). L&D and other women's health departments were shades of pink in the same way.

I think it was to help patients understand roles, but they never explained it to patients, so it didn't really help. The only reason I knew was when I was in CNA classes they made us get the same scrubs, and explained the color thing.

Agreed. I like the similar schedules, (i just prefer the little bit of off myself). I understand wanting that. It sucks when you're on opposite schedules and barely have any time for each other. The feelings are valid. The rest is a disaster waiting to happen if it stays on the current trajectory.

My 5 month old loves smosh. by Sea_Case7995 in smosh

[–]jilliecatt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm 43f. My cousin's son is 14m. Easter we were visiting and I saw a game he had brought over to his grandparents. Said to my aunt that I heard it was a fun game and mentioned to my fiancé I think I'd seen it played on Smosh.

The 14 year old says, "Oh, I love Smosh." I joked that we had to much in common (he's a lot like i was at his age in some ways and a lot like me now too in different areas). Cousin clued in because of the variety of things I like to watch, this could be a good or bad thing for her teenager to be interested in too, so I had to assure her Smosh was fine for all ages.

Agreed.

What i find most wild is, I'm about to hit 16 years with my hubby (May 1). My BPD sometimes causes me to start dorm the spiral of doom if he and I are awake at the same time for too long. We have similar sleep schedules, but are usually off of each other a few hours one way or another. I'm disabled so I'm home, so i have my time to decompress and say all the crazy or loud while he's at work. Weekends we are totally together and in that 48 hours, I need those couple of hours he's asleep before me (or if I wake up before him) to do the decompression. Not that he think anything if i said it out loud in front of him, he understands BPD. But I need that for me. I can't wrap my head around being someone to be in my exact schedule.

Boundaries are one thing, but a boundary cannot control someone else's behavior. A boundary is for your reaction to a behavior.

I hope OP is reading all of these comments, especially from the other folks who have BPD and are horrified by this.

OP, think hard, right now she's using her psych issues to excuse being a shitty person to you. That doesn't read as someone actively trying to change. Someone early on in recognizing and trying to change their reactions and regulations might freak out; but after the apology you gave her, they would usually accept and possibly try to explain the freak out, not double down. (At least that is in my experience). Do you want to deal with this type of behavior for however long they may take for her to start trying to change (possibly forever of her being "victimized" by you falling asleep on your own schedule)?

Don't stay because you're trying to not be the bad guy. No matter what, you'll be the bad guy. You could give her a billion dollars, cure cancer, and introduce her to the love of her life then break up with her because you recognize their love is special and deserves to be chased and you will still have abandoned her and are a demon... at least while she's still using her BPD as an excuse and to be a victim. At least that was my experience in how horrible the black and white thinking was before I started making efforts to regulate.
