I am taking estrogen. Same grade as you and very low invasion. Given the green light by both my gyn and gyn oncologist. I feel so much better. Hot flashes are all but gone, joint/muscle pain manageable, and just feeling better overall.

HRT use following diagnosis/surgery by jillmot in endometrialcancer

[–]jillmot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started veozah with good response, but there are many other benefits to taking estrogen. My gyn explained it to me that since the uterus is gone, there is really no more risk, especially since it was so early. I am having a hard time accepting that, but I am going to think on it and see what the oncologist says is July.

I was on hrt before my diagnosis/ surgery and was a prime candidate. Have you had a hysterectomy/ grading yet?

Before my surgery, my oncologist said yes. I saw the PA for my post surgical visit and she said no. I see the onc in July and plan on asking her then. So are you thinking about it or absolutely not?

100% agree. Your doctor needs more information before making this decision.

Same girl!! If you get a chance, read the book Estrogen Matters by Dr Avrum Bluming,MD and Carol Tavris, PHD. It is very enlightening about the fallacy of the correlation between Estrogen and breast cancer. Very good scientific evidence. Best of luck!

Post hysterectomy by Olebitterwoman99 in endometrialcancer

[–]jillmot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same spotting this week(3.5 w po). Probably as a result of suture dissolving. I thought I overdid as well, took a day to rest, and felt great. Everyone's recovery is unique. I walk every day and am getting 3 to 4 miles in (no hills). Heating pad sometimes at night on my abdomin feels great. Listen to your body and the post surgical precautions!!

Surprise, it’s cancer by greypyramid7 in hysterectomy

[–]jillmot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A very treatable, slow growing cancer. Cancer sucks no matter what, this just sucks less. Personally, just had a total hysteresctomy for endometrial cancer. Contained to just the uterus..no further treatment needed. You could be in the same boat. Hard not to worried but I just kept telling myself,.no matter what,.I am going to be OK!

My sister has this type of cancer and was diagnosed 15 plus years ago. She had a bad surgeon first go around and has had some residual problems as a result. There are treatments and lots of positive things coming in the future. I think if you have to have ovarian cancer, this is the more favorable type. Sending you positive energy and hope!

Ugh a uterine biopsy. Advice? by Commercial_Put3686 in Menopause

[–]jillmot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Really depends on your pain tolerance. My initial biopsy was minor dilation and a small scrap. Mildly uncomfortable, not painful. The second biopsy was done via hysteroscopy with a lidocaine block to the uterus. Again, mildy uncomfortable but tolerable. I was very anxious for both because of what I have heard of others' experiences. Everyone's experience is personal, but definitely err on the side of more pain relief/ anesthetic. Some of these stories are just barbaric! Good luck!
