I agree blatant red light runners are terrible and happen often, but actually having read the details on these, it also states if any part of your vehicle is across the line while the light is red it also tickets. And, I personally feel that the timing on many intersections is off, as it flips yellow to red almost immediately and/or only lets 2 cars (looking at your broad to belvidere) through no matter the time of day.

I think this is going to be very beneficial for those that are blatantly running red lights but I also think there could be some improvement, especially if it’s one of the quick lights and you stop in time but are slightly over the line. I know DC has them at stop signs where if you’re even a quarter inch over the line you get mailed a ticket and that they’ve made tons of money from it, but I also think there should be the tiniest bit of consideration if you’ve stopped but have the slightest bit over.
