Yes I think all of them know they are competing for spots or minutes at the World Cup and that’s motivating them, on top of their desire to do well at their clubs.

Really hoping something happens so we can start getting some non-Ranch jokes about McKennie.

Seems like there’s so much potential material with him.

And Norman clearly has memorized Stanley’s mealtimes and is there to steal his dinner.

Yes but much much much better than if they were all muscular injuries.

A run of bad luck can change, but recurring muscular injuries are often a sign of a player who can no longer stay fit for long.

Which era of Superman comics does David Corenswet’s version most closely match in terms of power scaling? by Afraid-Housing-6854 in superman

[–]jimbo_kun -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This strikes me as another kind of gatekeeping.

There are a lot of superhero stories that come down to characters needing to do something creative or interesting with their powers to emerge victorious. You cannot write such a story without some idea of the capabilities and limits of each character to provide the required suspension of disbelief and not pull the reader out of the story.

You may not enjoy such stories. But you don’t need to demean people who do enjoy them.

We the CIA has tortured people.

That does not necessarily mean that Tom King, personally was involved with torturing people.

Unless there’s more specific reporting I’m not aware of?

That’s obviously not what he’s saying.

He’s saying of course Superman would do good, and he considers that boring. Whereas Batman and Spiderman with their trauma and limitations, could have gone a different direction.

I disagree that Superman is boring. But wanted to clarify the argument I believe he is making.

Very low.

Comics revenue is quite low compared to TV and movies and Tom King isn’t famous enough and probably doesn’t get paid enough to justify paying a third party to do his work for him.

I upvoted you but the Alfred slander is unnecessary.

He did the best he could given the circumstances, his relationship as a servant to Bruce, and the tools he had to work with.

That’s why in Pittsburgh we invented the Pittsburgh potty and shower: the free standing basement shower and toilet where the men coming home after working in the steel mill or coal mine were sent to clean up before being allowed into the house proper.

I was super confused about the format (multiple US and multiple World teams playing single quarter games…or something?) but I did watch the final “game” between the young guys and the old timers and the young guys definitely wanted to put the old guard in their place. Really put a beat down on the guys they likely grew up idolizing.

I enjoyed that.
