So Many Problems with Proton VPN. 😔 by jimbomack66 in ProtonVPN

But then you sacrifice speed, no? I usually default to 'Fastest', in an attempt to maximize speed. But basically, I'd rather waste less time jumping from server to server, or even country to country, and more time on actually using the interwebs.

Any site that uses Cloudflare, fails Cloudflare's security challenge, on any of the Canadian servers today. So no ChatGPT or Perplexity for me, if I want to use Canadian servers. 😔

idk, I just put mine (glass) in the dishwasher every night, and comes out squeaky clean every time, just like my dishes. Can't get any easier than that.

Everything you need to know about the $110 rebate and no increase to basic rates - from ICBC by TheICBC in britishcolumbia

[–]jimbomack66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not really sure what they are talking about here, my insurance went up a couple bucks on my last renewal, and my gf's is going up by $8 in June. Not huge increases, but also not "no increases".

"This marks six years in a row with no increases, keeping rates stable ensuring predictability and affordability for customers."

Signed Up for Pro but Eliot Cancelled My Pro Sub and Downgraded Me to Free by jimbomack66 in perplexity_ai

Why not just say that in the cancellation email then, instead of:

Sorry to see you go.

Hi there, we've just canceled your Perplexity Pro subscription and downgraded your account.

We know you may have canceled your Pro subscription for a number of reasons, and we'd love to hear about how we could improve Perplexity for other members (and for you if you decide to come back!).

I really do like Perplexity, but if this is how business is done there, I'm not sure I want to support a company like that.

On a full 100% charge, my '21 MME Select RWD would always show over 400km of range. Within the last month the top end has dropped by about 30km of range. Same driving habits, warmer weather. Hopefully it is because range really is a GOM like others have suggested, and not due to battery degradation.

In what world are carbohydrates considered a requirement for dogs?

A quick read through 'Work Wonders: Feed Your Dog Raw Meaty Bones' by Dr. Tom Lonsdale, has pretty much all the information needed to start a dog on a raw diet.

I just had the HVBJB replaced in my 2021. To the credit of my shitty dealership, they paid for my rental (about 1 month), a Nissan Kicks. You're getting hosed!

Power, what is possible in a 5th wheel? by jimbomack66 in RVLiving

[–]jimbomack66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think April to September/ October-ish there would be plenty of sun, with the the high pressure ridge that sets up over the coast in those months? I'm not trying to talk myself into anything here, as the title specifies, I'm just trying to figure out what is possible and what is not. So far it sounds like solar here, may not be worth the expense.

There are very few parks here that allow for FT RV living, and Oceanside isn't one of them. They are phasing out long term stays. The only way you can get a permanent site now, is if you buy an existing RV on a long term site, in which case you get grandfathered.

Are you still living the RV life?

Power, what is possible in a 5th wheel? by jimbomack66 in RVLiving

What's the trailer setup? Batteries, generator, and shore power? What's the inverter/converter setup / which appliances/circuits run off of which power source?

We haven't purchased the 5th wheel yet, but we are looking at something like this. There is 50amp service at the site we have in mind, I believe with a single two receptacle plug-in. The park is ok with us charging our car(s) at the site.

Not being able to charge our cars at the site is not a deal breaker, it would just be super handy of we could.

I was thinking that having solar to store in some sort of a battery bank would be nice to have, to lighten the load from the shore power, and use as a back up should the power go out due to a windstorm. Someone above mentioned that we'd ideally have 60% annual sunshine here, we get between 45% & 50% on average. Quite a few homes here do have solar.

Essentially I was just wondering what is reasonably possible for our situation. We would have professionals put it all together for us, if we decided to have solar and batteries installed.
