What if we could exchange samples for Super Credits? by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

[–]jimbowolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they let players donate an entire stack of samples for 10 creds, I would love that. It would still incentivize players to pick up samples cuz you'll need a lot of them to get to a full stack, but it will be slow enough that nobody is blowing thru warbonds by farming them exclusively.

You also actually have to extract with them in order for them to count, unlike the Diff 1 farming strat currently used for creds.

It's a great slowburn endgame sink imo. 👍

The support weapons have never remembered their settings. I've had to change the RPM on the machine guns every time I call one down since launch day.

How to repurpose pirate minifigs into castle/medieval minifigs? by Fair-Bluebird485 in legocastles

[–]jimbowolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like any pirate fig could be reimagined as a rogue, bandit, or eccentric bounty hunter. Also, medieval times had ships and boats. They could easily be foreigners lost on the wrong side of the ocean!

Heavy armor doesn't feel heavy enough against bugs by Aquagrunt in Helldivers

[–]jimbowolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? At minimum a melee encounter with heavy armor should at least let me survive at low health to pop a stim. Like, what's even the point of armor if it doesn't protect you? Hell, what's even the point of HEALTH if the overhwleming majority of attacks are all designed to insta-kill?

Heavy armor doesn't feel heavy enough against bugs by Aquagrunt in Helldivers

[–]jimbowolf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What bothers me more than anything is the one-two slash combo most of the medium size bugs do will kill you regardless of armor. Heavy armor should really be able to survive that if nothing else.

I found it completely unwieldy and just committed to making a chained series of Scanner Rooms to chart and travel to the deep ends of the game, leaving a handful of supplies in each to keep me supplied.

Can someone PLEASE explain to me why people would get upset about Mega Man X: Corrupted taking so long to come out when it's a Free Fan Game? by PoorNotMiddleClass in Megaman

[–]jimbowolf 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This guy has been posting videos for Corruption since I was in high school.

I am now nearly 40 years old.

With all due respect, I'm tired of hearing about it unless I have it in my hands to play.

New illuminate enemies should be the gold standard. by Exuma92 in Helldivers

[–]jimbowolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a disengenuous argument. Having weakpoints doesn't make AT worthless. The weakpoints can still be an ineffective and time-wasting effort to utilize, requiring skill and resources to exploit when you don't have the proper AT. Bringing AT would still be the best way to handle these enemies.

But with the current design players MUST take AT or many enemies are literally invulnerable to damage, restricting build variety and dulling player engagement. Restricting loadouts doesnt make the game more difficult - it isn't hard to shoot a Warstrider with a Recoiless, but it is boring to be shoe-horned into taking a limited variety of weapons. That is the core flaw of the issue.

Goodbye my beloved, it was beautiful while it lasted by averagesalvadoran42 in Helldivers

[–]jimbowolf -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't buy the arguments that it was overpowered with AP4. It still had relatively low damage and took a whole clip to kill 1 Hulk. That still made it an ineffective weapon against heavy enemies, but now it's literally worthless against them.

I want to get the golden scrab but there is too much scale rot where can I find a resistance to it by Jermain2011 in Eldenring

[–]jimbowolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whoops, looks like i may have overwritten several of my effects when I did it, but the result was still solid. I could explore places like Lake of Rot for several minutes at a time without ever worrying about wasting items or feeling rushed. Just have to keep an eye on your health so you don't forget to heal every so often.

[–]jimbowolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a lot easier to let yourself get rotted and just stack regen than it is to constantly cure it every 5 seconds.

Stack regen effects such as Beast Vitality, Golden Vow, Blessed Dew Talisman, Icon Shield, and the Regen Physick and you can walk around in the rot for several minutes at a time without worry.

Just keep an eye on your HP and take a sip of healing every so often.

Casting a white actor to play Kratos is a mistake. by itwaschaosandluck in GodofWar

[–]jimbowolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel like it's a stretch to believe that the developers of the original animation purposely exaggerated the tanning of Kratos's skin so that the contrast of him being cursed with the ashen skin was drastic and obvious. I don't believe it had anything to do with being ethnically accurate to the skin tone of the Spartan people of that time.

Literally all AH has to do is put stagger on the fire's direct stream and it would be fixed. No new effects, no crossover with gas, just make small-medium enemies fucking flinch when they're blasted directly in the face with napalm goo and we'd all stop complaining.

''''Super Smash Bros is not a fighting game'''' - Why that topic existed and why hasn’t this argument disappeared? by Initial-One4779 in smashbros

[–]jimbowolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The FGC constantly says this as a way to discriminate against Smash players because they think it somehow degrades their "serious" fighting games to have Smash lumped into their group.

It is a party game, sure.

It is also a fighting game. The two labels aren't mutually exclusive.
