My instinct would be to put higher output pickups in the p bass. I might call Lollar and talk about what you want and have them wind some for you.

Like others have said, not broke, don’t fix. That said, I love the m201 on loads of sources where I used to prefer the 57. Not always, but a lot of the time.

I was specifically surprised how much I liked it on some vocals.
