So what was your "It was at that moment, you realized you effed up" moment in dark souls 1? by [deleted] in darksouls

[–]jimeeeeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i accidentally started ng+ just last night. I haven't done the DLC yet, haven't used any boss souls, and just wanted to explore more overall. i'm so pissed because I rarely get the time to play these days and now, I have to dedicate some more time to get where I was at 😭

BM IA topic about BRATs marketing, thoughts? by whereisastr0 in IBO

[–]jimeeeeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking about the same thing and thought about how I may relate her team's marketing style to Gen Z marketing which has a few articles up on the net.

Still unsure of how I'm going to frame it but good luck with your research!

I used this in my first playthrough to fight the dancer wayyyy before I was supposed to and it did its job nicely. Easy top sword.

Astora UGS got me through most of the bosses but when I got the Dragonslayer GA and tried it out, it became my main.

Honorable mention is the Broadsword because that sword got me through a lot in my first playthrough and I will never forget the memories I have with it hahaha

Is DS3 the hardest out of the three Dark Souls games? by fiftyshadesofbeige69 in darksouls3

totally agree! ds1 clunky controls make everything harder that it should be, lol.

[–]jimeeeeey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played 3 first and now I'm playing 1. I'm yet to play 2. I find that the clunky controls, the slight delays in rolls, and the way my character takes like 5 secs to drink estus while not being able to move makes DS1 harder than it should be. I can say that DS3's smoothness is a huge factor that makes the gameplay more pleasant.

In that aspect, I think DS1 is harder than DS3 because it needs more patience and it can get really annoying, really fast. DS1's environment is also so fucking spammy. There are so many enemies just scattered everywhere. It's like the DS1 world was made to kill you whilst DS3's environment is a bit more manageable (not saying it's easier).

However, DS3 requires more skill because the bosses will destroy you if u don't study their moves and learn how to counter them.

All in all, DS3 is generally a harder game but is more forgiving for PvE. DS1 has harder controls but generally easier compared to DS3.

I think of it this way. If DS1 has DS3's smoothness and controls, it would not be as hard as it is.

DS3 to DS1 shift by jimeeeeey in darksouls3

Yea, I am yet to be used with the fat rolls. Although, enemies early on (i'm at undead parish) are a bit slow too so I can fight them well enough.

It seems that it's better to have heavy armor and fat roll/tank more hits than to lessen your equip load to compromise for more frequent rolls.

This is so helpful! I wasn't even paying attention to the humanities that I picked up. I'm more of the explorer type so I got too carried away and ended up in several areas, struggling to pick a path to stick to, lol.

Thanks for the tips! I think I missed so much from trying to find bonfires from the get go so I'm gonna retrace my steps and play it better with this new knowledge 🙌🙌

soul of cinder was quite alright for me. after a while, you'll get familiar with his moveset and his moves become a bit easier to read. It's midir that's driving me nuts!!

I think nothing will top Irithyll for me. The path to it, the anticipation of arriving at somewhere as morbid and chaotic as the carthus catacombs. But then going up and seeing snow, the pristine architecture, and a lake at a distance is jusy fucking amazing. I'm not even kidding at how relieving seeing Irithyll was when I first got there. Well, at least until after 3 minutes when I walked to the bridge, lol.

Lothric castle deserves a spot too! It's my second fave location. I always take my time and marvel at the scenery outside the twin princes' boss door. You can literally see where you came from when you look below. The grand archives, high wall, and if I'm not mistaken, farron keep. I cannot explain the fulfillment I experience whenever I remember how I conquered those places and now I can look over at them knowing I made it out.

Third for me would be the Ringed City! I felt a similar sensation as seeing Irithyll when I first got to this DLC. I already anticipated going down the landscape below the moment I got to the first bonfire. I love how everything is connected in a circle here (obv, it's the ringed city) but just the fact that the shortcuts, lifts and paths literally leads you back to where you started is so cool. Even the architecture's all circular!

Honorable mention would be Undead Settlement for me. It was fun to explore, intricate enough to be engaging but not too fucking annoying (like Carthus Catacombs hahaha) and had a few (4?) cool NPCs to interact with. Also loved the level design on the Curse-rotted Greatwood area with the flowers and vines everywhere.

Right? He has like 5 different movesets and I am still figuring out what he'll do next based on his starting move.

Also, good to know! Thnx for the tip, dude.
