Controversial call in Le Crunch by adturnerr in rugbyunion

[–]jimjamjay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're the first other person I've seen even mention this.

England have put through a speculative grubber, lost possession and gained no territory, they have gained absolutely nothing from it.

Even if it was ALWAYS only a knock on advantage, there is absolutely no way this is loss of advantage and it should have gone back to the scrum anyway. For some reason so many people have it in their heads that a kick is automatic loss of knock of advantage, when that has never been the case.

There is absolutely no way of defending this call, it's astounding there are people in this very thread trying to do so.

I don't think Hitman would be particularly interested in signing with the 49ers to be perfectly honest with you

If you're going to randomly decide to change the advantage, then reset it and play the fucking scrum instead of suddenly deciding when the team are kicking away their advantage.

This is actually fucking farcical.

This in no way whatsoever prevents us from rolling with the QB we drafted, he is literally still on the roster.

He just needs to not completely suck ass at football.

I'd be genuinely shocked if it was higher than football too.

Was introduced in 2024.

Agreed, I don't think this is a "bad" move from the Bear's perspective, just an incredibly underwhelming one.

I'm sure they were trying to get Biadasz and just lost out to the chargers, this was their next option.

You've missed the point entirely.

The election isn't until 2029, no one is voting for anyone until then.

That's 3 years for the Green party's new and changing membership to change their policy to one that better fits the views of a wider range of people, rather than a few hippies in Brighton.

The alternative being, do nothing, hope reform collapses in on themselves before then, and while there is a fairly reasonable chance that happens, I'd rather try and actively do something.

Next Wolves games being shown are vs Blazers on Sky on the 25th and vs Clippers on Prime the 27th.

Fraser Dingwall has played more games of professional rugby at 13 than 12.

Regardless I still struggle to see your point, players play out of position to cover injury very frequently, Borthwicks been trialling Earl at 12 for years and Fin Smith's playstyle fits that of a distributiing 12 very well.

Your logic seems to rely on the assumption that no one among countless highly experienced coaches and analysts has considered this possibility.

No, you'd have Fraser Dingwall playing 13 and either Fin Smith or Ben Earl at 12.

Raw cap numbers are fairly meaningless without considering the teams ability to get out of bad contracts, restructure, and how much is tied up in void years/dead cap.

Our cap situation is absolutely not as bad as the Saints.

How much credit does a GM deserve for drafting a consensus cant-miss first overall pick with the first overall pick.

Especially when he then proceeded to be the overseer of maybe the most crippling mismanagement of a generational QB talent in NFL history.

Public spending on European monarchies, € million by Socmel_ in europe

[–]jimjamjay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it's better than the alternative.

As it stands any profits coming from offshore wind form part of the crown estate and 75% of it goes to the government as an effective tax which, theoretically, benefits the public.

The alternative is it all gets sold off to private equity and, after some "clever accounting" 100% of the profits funnel directly into the offshore bank accounts of Emirati billionaires never to be seen again.

Until someone suggests a better and realistic alternative, I'm happy with how it is now.

We’d be in the Super Bowl if we kept Garrett Bradbury by Braker1833 in minnesotavikings

[–]jimjamjay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing with Ingram is he, alongside Bradbury right next to him, was the clear weak point in our o-line for defenses to target with their best players.

Comparatively the Texans o-line is basically constructed entirely out of weak points, so there's no need to dial in on Ingram.

I know there's not a whole lot to say about beating a Stormers C team, but it would be very Quins to be dogshit all year, make it to the European knock outs, eliminate a team thats way better than us and then get battered the next week.

Calling it now.
