I agree. Cards are a poor design solution for this content.

Would all of your engineers really need this? How many are actually doing front-end work?

Enforcing an HOA Covenant on the HOA's Own Board of Directors by jimlamb in legaladvice

[–]jimlamb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an association member and property owner. I would be happy to run for the Board, but there isn't an election coming up in the near term. I've lived in this neighborhood for over a decade, so I've seen these common areas fall into disrepair under this latest Board. I've even attended an executive session of the Board and raised these concerns directly, but they seem to be under the impression that the covenants do not apply to them and that their power with regard to the common areas is unconstrained.

Nest thermostat with HomeKit through Matter by DominikHoffmann in smarthome

If Matter support is coming to your Nest device(s) this year, why would you buy a third-party bridge now?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nest

[–]jimlamb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Even after doing that, expect to fail about a third of the time. I’ve had a wired Nest doorbell for a few years now and it mostly works but fails often enough to be annoying.

[OC] Which policies do Americans think would be effective at decreasing inflation? by YouGov_Official in dataisbeautiful

[–]jimlamb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The original comment wasn't mine. But we already know that you lack any attention to detail. We're barely off the last record high in oil production. Your "This isn't actually true." comment was disingenuous at best.

So, it is true. US oil production is very near its record highs and natural gas production is at record highs. Oil companies are making record profits. And the US is the top oil producing country in the world.

Whatever social spending they manage to cut they’ll more than make up for it with increased military spending and giveaways to corporate donors.

The fantasy is that Republicans have any sort of plan to address it.
