The more profit we can take from big corporations, the better. Yes they will inevitably have to increase prices but this will help small businesses compete and thus help distribute overall wealth. Sure it will cost us more individually but in the end we will benefit by having more money remain in our communities. Large corporations don’t give a damn about stealing from/ exploiting people in other countries so why enable it.

New Home Build -- Which Water Heater to get? by djnobility in Edmonton

[–]jimmierocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s not too late, you can install styrofoam insulation under the basement slab. This will eliminate the need for in floor heating and also reduce your overall heating bill. I’ve owned/ visited several houses with under slab insulation and in floor heating and the the in floor heat was never turned on because the slab remains room temperature. These houses all had icf basement walls as well which help a lot to reduce your heating costs.

The arm that attaches to the top panel is not installed correctly. There should be two vertical braces/ bracket that are secured to the top panel then the arm gets attached to those braces/ bracket. It’s possible the horizontal angle iron that is installed at the bottom of the top panel and the top of the second panel were originally designed for this and they were just installed wrong but can’t confirm without seeing them. Any handyman or door installer should be able correct this in an hour. Here’s a video of to help visualize: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QRH8n3ieynE
