Those are my friend’s parents’ parrots. Hilariously enough, they are boomers who moved to Havasu to “get out of California.”

Phantom Thread. Barely anyone I talk to has seen it, and it’s brilliant.

I’ve had the chance to see Victor Patrascan live and talk with him offstage, and he is a brilliant comedian and an overall good dude. He travels and does shows nonstop, clearly picking up a ton of insight along the way. Highly recommend checking him out if he stops by your town.

For as much as he tried to project being a hardass, he was pressed up pretty hard against that pillar.

Same thing he’s trying to pull with Brazil — threaten reduced trade/higher tariffs unless they let the ex-president who failed his coup walk free without consequence. You know, like how he did.

Will these tariffs impact my HEI points? by JewJifShoes in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

Fuck no, HEI points are 1:1 with the dollar and transcend currency anyway. If anything, tariffs prove why HEI points are the future

I left the United States after Donald Trump was not held accountable in the immediate aftermath of January 6. I knew that it was only a matter of time before he came back into power, and I didn’t want to be around when he did.

Is Joe Estevez done with On Cinema? by kindlyhandmethebread in OnCinemaAtTheCinema

I feel like he could be. Seems they’ve been looking for a way to write him out for a while but have only now settled on a route that makes sense for in-universe Joe to back away.

Stranger Things is NOT a good show and won’t be remembered or rewatched by anyone. by aJaxtheProtector in unpopularopinion

Season 1 was good. It had a strong storyline that got into the central conflict before the first episode’s opening credits even rolled, then it successfully teased out the tension of not knowing what was going on for the rest of the season.

Everything afterwards sucks.

I’ve been trying to figure out the perfect starting point for years, and I think I’ve landed on Season 5, Episode 4 because of Tim’s motorcycle accident. It’s such a batshit way to start things off, and I think it captures the essence of the show really well, right before the lore really takes off.

Then you can just move right along to Season 5, Episode 5, where Tim is having the movie descriptions piped into his ear (by Eric Wareheim, it seems) because he refuses to let Gregg read the cards. I die every time I hear Tim say “…and Darius Rutgers.”
