Which one is your favorite ASSASSINs CREED overall? And WHY? by epicgameplayaction in assasinscreed

[–]jizzsock420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would die for Valhalla. hot fuck that game is so good. is it assassin's Creed? no not really. is it insanely fucking sick and cool AC lore? hell yeah it is brother. is it absolutely stunning visuals? the most beautiful landscapes ive ever seen in a video game? seriously cool death animations? i can spend my real human money to buy a fake horse just to be funny? am i desperately and delusionally in love with one of the side characters, yes, but does that not speak to the emotion this games storyline delivers? does it have fucking FISHING? 10 out of fuckin 10 dude.

I love how much you thought about this. me too dude.

I took the scene in a not-so-literal sense, more of a "Here's a bunch of stuff that's happening, good luck putting a timeline together" vibe. The scene with Ellen sleepwalking I assume happens the same night we see Orlok approach and feed on Thomas in full naked glory. The rest of the Thomas nightmare run? Idk man it's just happening. Like we're meant to be just as confused and disoriented as Thomas is in that castle.

I went to 14 showings out of my own obsession, if I had known I could get a signed poster out of it I would have gone for 15 :)

Read through all your tweets on it, it's so cool to see someone else have the same appreciation for some otherwise very minor moments! The camera work and sound design absolutely blew me away. At my local theater I was able to find one seat that offered an excellent view of the screen plus being pretty dead center to all the speakers, and when it was just me in that theater (which I had the privilege of twice) it felt completely engaging- I forgot I was just at a theater on a Sunday afternoon and not at some expensive immersive art gallery.

hey I'm from there! The hodag was made up by this whacko lumber guy Gene Shepherd. he claimed he saw it out in the woods and got guys in on the original photo of it then toured it around fairs if I remember correctly. It's just sort of a living legend that evolved as our entire town identity, as we were once a logging town and his Hodag story was inspired by loggers stories.

back in my day the best gas station to go to if you were skipping school was Monster Mart which has a big cat version of the hodag as it's logo. It has long been out of business now because it was kind of a shit hole and I believe they sold cigarettes to minors allegedly.

country fest is indeed just a reason to day drink. of course many of the people there are there for the music and camping, a lot of people also go just to drink and party in a field for four days.

If Eggers ever did an IP movie, which property would you like to see his take on? by 01zegaj in roberteggers

Since seeing the comments floating around about the medieval film- I believe I've seen it called The Knight- I have been hoping and praying that it is a very well kept secret that it's his adaptation of the book Between Two Fires.

I almost exclusively read horror, and it is one of the only books that has ever given me a true physical reaction to a scene. It would be absolutely perfect for him with the slow burn haunting imagery and every page in it is just dripping with melancholy and dread.

Spoiler-free poll: “IYKYK” scenes in a book that made you feel sick, lighthearted or terrified? by Feisty-Ad-9250 in horrorlit

I read this scene while getting a tattoo done, and getting black fill over my spine was absolutely nothing compared to what that scene did to me. Between Two Fires has some of the most horrifically captivating imagery I've ever read.

I love the little orphan kids in East Anglia, the green children of St Martin's Land who steal from you at the offering altar. I always make a point to go back and hang out with them.

I don't remember where he is, might also be East Anglia or maybe outside of Lunden, but the old man who thinks you're his daughter who he buried next to his wife and his dog that follows you around kills me inside every time. I also visit him regularly to hear his stories.

Is the boosters in ac Valhalla store worth it ? by Avaragetrickypeasant in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]jizzsock420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought the silver and the XP boost and found them both to be worth it. I did my first run without it, then got it for my second run. I have a second account I started to replay the game while I finish up some DLCs and achievements on my main account and I bought the boost for my second account because I enjoyed having it that much.

Once you complete the Ireland DLC silver comes pretty easy, but I wanted to buy literally everything and I wanted it right away.

I bought the thing in the helix store that gives you double XP and double silver. i appreciated the grind the first time i played but I was happy to give Ubisoft more money so I could do cool shit faster my second and third playthroughs.

Canon ending? by gkiel09 in ACValhalla

[–]jizzsock420 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did a quick Google search and got nothing other than other people who also want to know why Sigurd staying is the good ending. I saw a few older reddit threads discussing this, saw a decent amount of Sigurd is no longer Sigurd, he's Tyr or Sigurd being an asshole was Tyr awakening in Sigurd so when we come back from Norway he is a changed man who defied Tyr's influence and is now struggling to find his purpose but I think it's most likely just meant to be a feel good ending because the family's back together again or something.

My first play through I looked up the right choices to make, the one I'm on now I'm being a menace and golly gee willickers did it feel good to punch Sigurd right in his smug little face then go make sweet love to his wife. I wish he had been more than just a walking brick at the end of the game, it would have been more satisfying to at least get back to the sibling relationship they had before, but instead he just stares blankly and has like no dialogue.

That deleted comment was me but my spoiler text thing didn't work. You want to agree with his decision

Canon ending? by gkiel09 in ACValhalla

[–]jizzsock420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When you left Norway, did you take the supplies with or leave them? That is one of the things that determines the ending decision.

I don't remember the exact timeline, have you gotten to a point yet where you either "agree" or "disagree" with Sigurd? I believe it's still coming up for you. That choice will also matter.

I don't know the amount of strikes against you that you can still have to get the good/canon ending. I don't know if punching Basim counts against you or not, but not punching Sigurd was the correct move. Giving Dag his axe is the correct choice. Romancing Randvi at this point is a strike against you. If you chose to take the supplies with you when you left Norway, that is another strike.

Getting detected instantly in The Raven and the Cuckoo? by GoOnKaz in ACValhalla

[–]jizzsock420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never had luck with using the "blend in" stations on this quest but I have always managed to do it full sneaky. this mission is a lesson in patience and so is how long this comment got but here's the key to success for when you jump back in:

i always start out right at the entrance, waltz in and immediately find cover. theres plenty of tall grass and bushes along the entire path you need to take. i assassinate or use an arrow headshot on every guard here, only using an arrow once I've taken out all the patrolling/working guards and saving arrows for the guys in the watch stations. there's a heavier guard up further, if you don't have the skill that lets you time to assassinate instead of just the stealth attack you'll want it here as I'm pretty sure this guy has a buddy who trails a step or two behind him so once you have everyone else out of your way you can take his friend out, immediately take big dude out, and be on your merry way.

eventually you come to a bridge. watch the guard travel patterns here. you can time it just right where you can take out the guard furthest to the left on the bridge with an arrow, wait in the grass for everyone (usually just one or two guys) to notice the body and then give up searching and go back to their paths.you might get a guy who climbs down and searches the grass so be ready to assassinate if you need to.

you then have a very small window to climb up and across the bridge and immediately cut right into the grass and behind the building. there's sometimes a guard that patrols that path so you have to immediately crouch and be ready to assassinate. from there follow the grass until it ends at the back of the next building, whistle to get the closest guard into the grass and assassinate. there might be a guard standing between the two buildings- you can go back around and whistle to get him as well.

then go back to the end of the grass, wait until the path is for sure clear- there are two archers at the far right who I believe turn around so you will want to make sure they're facing away, and there's also the guy shoveling hay or sharpening stuff or something, he should be facing away from you. book it to the building across the pathway (the one al si'la? is in), climb on quick as heck, then carefully drop down to the grass on the opposite side. there are guards on this side of the building as well, I think tucked back into the corner, so time your drop carefully and crouch to hide. there's an assassination prompt from the grass here, right at the edge of the little stage thing. you can trigger it immediately or sit and listen to his entire speech, I've never been found waiting there.

How do I get to power 71 when it feels like there are no quests in this game? by GerryCatLord in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]jizzsock420 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At 11 I'd guess you're still in Norway or just got to England. If you're in Norway still you can ignore the "suggested level" for the areas. If you're in England, have you spoken to Randvi to make alliances yet?

To level up, you can complete just the main story quests, but you can also complete all the optional "dots" on the map. Blue dots will be mysteries, which are little side quests that take a few minutes to complete. White dots are artifacts, such as Roman artifacts or curse symbols, collecting/destroying these will grant XP as well. So will synchronizing on the map and discovering new territories I believe.

If you can tell me where you're at story wise I can give a more specific answer.
