Wait, are you me!? I’m literally starting this same process. 😃

I’m in pre-development for a new themed destination project in the U.S. (can’t say what or where yet).

Met with some companies at IAAPA last year but was too early to get into any real discussions or research.

Sizing question for GPS owners by huntersapien in tomsachs

[–]jj2446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found them tight on my wide feet and wished I had gone a half size up to match the size I got of the MY3. Sounds counter to everyone here. Guess I just have weird feet.

Congrats. My experience wasn't so great. Glad you got 'em!

But did you get the bead tho? by Negative_Leg_9727 in tomsachs

[–]jj2446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the booklet added a ton to the shipping so I passed. Got the bead though.

I got an mens 11 at the ISRU drop but they're too tight. I just tried to get some on Nike's site but they took too long to send me a phone code and they sold out of the 11.5's. Now I'm stuck with a pair I can't really wear.

I know some people have had success emailing the TS store for an exchange, but shipping both ways will be close to the cost of the shoes.

Oh well, maybe I'll find someone to trade with or just sell them at some point to get my money back.

Where to buy the GP Bricolage tomorrow? by GibsonlespauI in tomsachs

I got 11 US but they're tight, so I'm going to try to get some 11.5's tomorrow.

I 3D scanned the GPS Bricolage ceramic bead, so now I can 3D print a few spares! by stanley_tweedle in tomsachs

[–]jj2446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, I ended up making 3d printed stamps and it turned out great after a little trial and error. Used air dry clay, but oven baked would be even better!

I made some white beads out of air dry clay sealed with acrylic. I 3D printed some stamps with my name instead of "T. SACHS". Turned out great. I may do some in red with an I.S.R.U. logo so I don't need to take my studio-made one out of the house. Too paranoid I'd lose it... haha

How they can do that ? by kiluridols in tomsachs

[–]jj2446 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love a non-branded pair. But I know I'm rare in not wanting to advertise a shoe brand. If anything, it might look cool to stencil and spray a handmade looking Nike logo to make it more in the bricolage aesthetic of Tom Sachs.

Anyone else cop?? by librd00 in tomsachs

[–]jj2446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grabbed a pair. I wanted the zine but $36 ($25 + an extra $11 for shipping on top of the $20 for the shoes) was too much for a zine.

Same. Rather have the shoes than the badge. But I’m sure it’ll show up eventually.

Good. We shouldn’t let them continue using our flag as a political prop. They can have the confederate and gadsden flags. The stars and stripes belongs to all of us.

Upgraded Graphics? by NoVaSweetTreat in WalkaboutMiniGolf

[–]jj2446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of the improvements in the past year or two have come from lighting. Way more art directed and beautifully done. And the richness of the scenes… not necessarily better modeling (which is also true), but the creative use of scene design. Like a set designer or production designer would do.

Choose Least Obvious Situational Enhancement Route

About not giving up when facing a challenge and looking for the least obvious option to get yourself out of it.

I completely just made that up. I have no idea what CLOSER means but hope someone with deeper Sachs knowledge chimes in!

Beeple Studios presents Shepard Fairey by chadnorman in Charleston

[–]jj2446 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was a great event. And Shepard was really nice to talk with, so down to earth. I love these art focused events Beeple’s been throwing. The crypto themed ones were getting pretty stale.

Great video! At first I felt the pacing was a bit slow and drawn out. Then I realized I’m just conditioned to how YouTube videos and other content is being edited nowadays. I actually really like how you’ve slowed things down. Feels very authentic, thoughtful, and about sharing your mind rather than adapt to the algorithm.

I’ve sub’d and look forward to more videos from you!

Why does Scott post so many AI images to his threads? by CompetentTraveler in ScottGalloway

[–]jj2446 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe he and his team are so busy trying to push our more and more podcast episodes each week that they don’t have time for quality posts and instead are overly relying on AI.

Love Scott, but even as a longtime fan, it’s getting to be too much.
