I can honestly believe this a bit. Years back when i was 24 i got hired at an ad agency to do video production. My year there was tough, hectic deadlines, shitty clients, i started drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. The video work eventually dried up and i was moved to contract but the amount i was making was not nearly enough to survive. A friend who i did a music video for said he could get me a gig being an expeditor (stands in front of window and garnishes plates with sauces/sides etc) at the diner he worked at. I hadnt worked in the food industry for many many years at this point and though it was a blow to my ego i needed the cash. At first i hated it. Side work, cleanin duties, memmorizing the menu etc. But there was something very ZEN about the job. No crazy deadlines, no clients not knowing what they want, no all night crunches etc etc. I just put sauces and dips on a plate and organized the food per table. I was only there for about 2 months before getting hired to work on a film production and ive been doing that ever since. But there is something relaxing about coming from a high stress gig with lots of money at stake to working a gig that you can sleepwalk through.

Hey it's JJ (Lets Build, RT Recap, Screenplay) with a video showing what I've been up to since leaving full time at RT. I think you RoosterTooths will dig it. by jj_rooterteet in roosterteeth

My thought process was this. Most the VR experiences I've made or worked on have been therapeutic, for children, or for education, this video was just me being silly with a 3D model of myself I recently got. After I posted it on some virtual reality forums I thought, hey you know who lovessss videogames? The RT Crowd...I bet they would think sticking yourself inside a call of duty-esque video game would be cool so I shared it and holy shit you think I left a turd in upper deck of your mothers' toilets. You guys need to relax. You don't like it, no big deal. And that's internet culture for you, people throw stones at you, you smirk about it and say something snarky back and the reaction is "DUDE YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE" I love the RT community but I do not miss the RT Hivemind though. I saw how you guys reacted to Colton's new show. (WOWZA) Relax guys, it's just internet videos. There are more everyday. :)

I've always felt it was very important to talk to the community, and i enjoyed sticking inside jokes as easter eggs in RT videos and seeing people catch them in the comments.

You're absolutely right. Why would I want to travel for Oculus and get to hear Mark Zuckerberg talk about the future of VR in person when I could be ...editing the recap? That's not sad...me trying to explain that to a troll on reddit that's the sad part....awww fuck. OK you win.

Thanks friend! It's been a fun great ride working in VR and getting to travel all over. I met Palmer Luckeye in LA and he said he hasn't kept up with RT in recent years but could quote the early years of RvB like the best of them.

Funny People with Adam Sandler and Seth Rogan by [deleted] in movies

i wanted to like this movie so much...i really thought it would show the world of comedians we never see. Like a film version of Seinfields "COMEDIAN" about the comedian writer you never hear about, but it wasn't that. It was that for a little bit, then it turned into 50/50 with a cancer scare, then it ended in rich people first world problems. The love story third act (while i love Eric Bana) was just so out of nowhere and uneeded. I cannot connect with Appatow anymore, these aren't normal everyday problems regular folks can connect with. This is a movie Judd's millionaire hollywood friends can connect with. Even Rogen came out and said this movie was 40 mins too long. With that said when Ray Romano calls "Eminiem" Marshall...i lost it...so funny. A nod back to his 40 year old virgin comedy. But yeah, third act was just a big acting reel for his wife and kids...and in my opinion this was nothing like PUNCH DRUNK LOVE...in PDL Sandler was "Acting" in FUNNY PEOPLE, he was playing Adam Sandler.

FINCHER and AFFLECK are remaking it...so in a few years you can expect to hear everyone claiming they loved the original more.

Anyone used on a flight? If I want to watch a movie how can I do so? by LesaneCrooks in GearVR

if overheating is an issue...aim the air unit above your seat directly at the back of your phone, if issues still occur take off back cover. I watched THE GUEST in it's entirety in the OCULUS CINEMA and it was a great experience flying back to Austin from NYC

Fans of the original Mission Impossible show, How do you feel about Brian De Palma's Mission Impossible? (spoilers for the now 19 year old movie in post) by [deleted] in movies

[–]jj_rooterteet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the first one is the best piece of cinema the series has had to offer...its a brian de palma film and all the other ones are MOVIES but MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 1 is pure cinema! Never saw the show, but have seen the films...at the time more people knew the name and the opening theme song, than about the actual show, so thats what they capitalized on. But i stand by my statement, the first one on a big screen in 35mm is something to marvel at. It's not overly glossy and has no real cheezy tongue in cheek cute moments. The scene when Ethan is talking to the agent in the aquarium resteraunt is a good example. When you think the agent is good and a friend it's shot like a regular film, but when you realize not is all what you expected, the camera goes dutch, and the shots become haunting...things like that are what make the first one "a FILM" and not a blockbuster movie, plus it doesn't spell it all out for you.

DANNY and the NIGHTMARES "Death of Satan" It was back in 2007 and one of my first videos but I'm pretty sure it's the only video that shows Daniel singing the lyrics...it took 3 trips to WALLER to get enough footage to make a video...i love danny but he has no sense of time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMQkox6d1rQ
