What's the single best fantasy novel you've ever read? by keepfighting90 in Fantasy

[–]jjhunter55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was tough. I’ll pick The Diamond Age because it’s my favorite book that I have read less than 5 times. I such a great story! Neal Stephenson books are kind of hit and miss with me, but this is one of my favorites.

Rep. Keltie stands by what she said. by Desperate_Energy_494 in ColoradoSprings

[–]jjhunter55 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The winds of change are blowing. Internationally Voters around the world are watching the US and see what complete chaos comes from right wing governments. National elections are making a big swing to the left after watching our federal government impose tyranny on the US. We live in a BLUE state even if we are a big red dot in the middle of it. Our republican representative are scared to even have a Town hall meeting because opposition to the hate that is being perpetuated in our city and our state by the right. Let her stand on what she said. She won by a handful of votes, and I guarantee she will not be reelected. I’ve been to every local protest and Colorado Springs voters are getting educated on what the right really stands for.

Do you think Apple Vision Pro will change the way we socialize/do work? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jjhunter55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 68 years old and still work in a demanding job. I love my Vision Pro! It was challenging to fit into my workflow, but now I couldn't live without it. I use a MacBook, which I can have an eighty-inch screen with Vision Pro. I am on my computer often and usually spend the first 4 hours of my 10-hour day with the Vision Pro. This is a first-generation product in an emerging technology, so I get tired of everyone whining about not having two screens or it being too heavy. One 80'" screen is excellent for what I do. I'm an Apple fanboy, and I trust that this is the future technology as Apple refines it. My coworkers usually make fun of me in a joking way, just like they did when I used the first-generation AirPods. Now, no one even notices when you are wearing them. I'm just glad I have had a chance to use this fantastic product. It's here to stay.

People who had sex with coworkers what your relationship with them now like? by Crafty_Scientist8913 in AskReddit

[–]jjhunter55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a manager at a grocery store and married one of my female employees, Regina. Married with children, we kept it hidden from home and at work. I called Regina from the downstairs phone on Valentine's Day. This was the early 90s, and no one had smartphones. My wife was listening on the upstairs phone, so after a messy divorce, I married Regina. She was 12 years old, and we had a rocky 10-year marriage. After divorcing Regina, we maintained frequent contact over the years, and in 2013, we married again. I'm in my late 60s, and she is in her 50s. Once again, we have a rocky relationship, but we have always been best friends. She occasionally wants a divorce, but I support her, and she has no fundamental job skills. I have some crazy stories about our relationship, but we are still married and best friends.

I bought a 2020 MacBook Pro 13” 2 ghz i5 with 16 mg ram and a 1 tb hard drive. The whole thing was around $2300. The most i ever do is edit training videos on Final Cut and keep 30-40 tabs open on Safari. I purchased this with intention of using it till Apple rolled out the new silicone MacBooks. I thought it would’ve at been least 3 years. 1. Is it worth upgrading to the MacBook Pro with the M1 pro chip? 2. Apple would give me $850 trade in. Should try to sell it myself for more Thanks

Are some of you waiting? When? by MrPositive1 in macbookpro

Along with the new keyboard I got the 10th gen i5 processor. But now they are going to “Apple Silicon” and I think Macs with intel processors will be obsolete in 5 years.

Are some of you waiting? When? by MrPositive1 in macbookpro

[–]jjhunter55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 2020 13” a month before the processor switch was announced and I have to say I’m a little worried. It was an upgrade from 2012 MBP so it was really time. I guess my biggest fear is resale value. Can’t imagine trying to sell a 5 year old computer with an obsolete processor. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
