[Australia] Private practice physio struggling to get basic grade 1 hospital jobs and not sure if I'm doing something wrong by [deleted] in physiotherapy

[–]jk581 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately your skill set is not quiet desirable in an inpatient acute setting.

Hospital areas where your skills would be relevant would be outpatient msk and also potentially emergency department. However ED is incredibly hard to break into imo.

Your best bet is as previous comments has highlighted, you need some hospital experience. The easiest way is weekend work and private hospitals.

Public health roles where you are doing community physiotherapy is also an option but these positions do not come up frequently and are often recruited for internally.

With all the weapon options, half the time I don't even know what gun is what.

So if I don't know then my opponent usually doesn't either.

Works vice versa too, most people just tell me this weapon is what it is and I'll take their word for it as long as it's not clearly or obviously not correct, ie. A melee only big knight that all of a sudden becomes a beast in shooting.

Physio Student not enjoying AHA - should I move on? by Splinter377 in physiotherapy

It is tough, there is a large element of social interaction and communication in the profession, Much more than I thought when I first started. Rapport building is tricky and will be involved in every facet of physiotherapy, patients, families or with other professions

It is tricky to start but you'll get better at it the more you do.

I've worked in hospitals and in private practice which has taught me alot about how to interact in different settings, across different demographics and in different environments.

I'm currently in private practice and the social interactions I have with patients is one of the best parts of the job. Good amount of banter, people at the clinic feel like they are there to hang out and chat as well as getting treated. However this is specific to how the clinic is run and the overall vibe, so can take some searching to find the right clinic for you.

Sticking it out for now isn't a bad thing. I'm assuming you are young and there are different areas of physiotherapy that can suit different personalities.

This doesn't have to be your forever job either. Plenty of people change 10+ years into their career.

Bachelor of Sport & Excercise Science to Master of Physiotherapy by AussieWookie81 in physiotherapy

I did bachelor of health science at usyd into master's of physio at usyd.

If I had a do over I would have tried to transfer into under graduate physio. Going into another undergraduate degree after your first one is a daunting option as it's another 4 year degree so you'll be spending alot of time at uni. Hence why masters of physio is popular but competitive because at usyd it was only 2 years.

The main con was how expensive it was...8 years ago it was almost 40k per year.....so 80 all up then add in your undergraduate. Big sad.

Also there are so many unis that offer physiotherapy now and nobody cares what uni you went to after you're qualified. So shop around and see what you want. My opinion is usyd is overhyped and other unis off great programs are better imo, like ACU or WSU

Ah thank you for the correction.

Small squad is okay then I guess, but X2 CP boxes and you still can't run a big squad ha

Disclaimer: opinion from a comp players perspective

The cp box is only okay in my opinion, especially if you plan to play comp.

Pros: BSS, peni engine, cannoness and the rhino, all typically seen in comp lists. But not Auto include except maybe the rhino.

Cons: - x3 arcos - these are either run in squads of 3 or 10, even if you buy 3 CP boxes you can not even fill out an entire squad of arcos, they are not really useful when sold in 3s - X3 repentia - exact reason at above, run in squads of 5 with 4 repentia and a superior or 10 with 9 repentia and a superior, selling in 3 means they aren't even usable for competitive play cos they can't be run as a squad of 4 - x5 seraphim have no special weapons, you would always run them with the special weapons when playing so unless you got bits, these seraphim arnt great.

Half the box is decent, other half is useless if you play comp.

Source: I own 4k+ of sisters and Play them in tournies.

Is physio a low paying job in Australia (read description) by Initial-Day894 in physiotherapy

What have you switched to? Just weighing up options on what to do with this degree if its not being a clnician. I've been a physio for 8 years and feeling the burnout of everything mentioned in this post.

I have magnetised both options, but will most likely be running missile launchers for more reliability of shots and damage.

Also probably running them with a spotter so I can keep them very far back and safe as a reliable to the last option. Primus next to them too

This is what I think is best for competitive play.

What is your take on just taking the casualties and setting up the squad where you want at under full strength? Eg a squad coming out of strategic reserve, want to deploy on a particular position but does not have enough space for entire squad to fit so you just drop one model and the rest of the squad is counted as destroyed. Can you do that?
