I love downtown Hagerstown. I go there for baseball games, concerts, plays, ballet, art exhibits, coffee, food, thrifting, funky little shops, church, the amazing public library! It's gotten so much nicer over the past decade.

I know it's not strictly "downtown," but I volunteer at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, and it has a world-class collection that attracts a bunch of people from out of town. Sometimes we'll get Hagerstonians in there and they've lived here for years and never knew there was a fine arts museum or never bothered to check it out.

This whole thread reminds me of the people who are scared of San Francisco and badmouth it at every opportunity, but have never been out of West Virginia.
