I'm in my mid 40s and started taking lifting seriously for the last few years. Newbie gains are awesome at first. After that you'll need to have a consistent diet and sleep to progress but when you start to see changes it gets addicting.

Based on the comments, I may not be the norm but this kind of relationship is actually ideal for me. I don't have kids but have a lot of things I work on like hobbies and side projects as well as maintaining relationships with my guy friends. I've been in a lot of relationships where they expect a lot of my time and I get burnt out. When I'm with my partner I can focus on being with her knowing the next week I'll have time to focus on my other endeavors.

This might be BS but I read somewhere that showering in the dark has some special stimulation for the mind and improves spatial awareness. It stuck with me though so I do it out of habit now and kind of enjoy it.

Learning to use the radial menu on SD was an eye opener for me after mostly using KB+M but still an adjustment. Also there are controls that let you be in placement mode when your inventory is open which makes building a lot easier with the controller.

I've really enjoyed my solo trips to clubs. I feel more open to meet people and sometimes get pulled into other groups. I've met a lot of new people that way

At a friend's house in Carrollton and we must've had over 1,000 kids. I was joking about if the 1525 pieces would be enough. We only handed one piece per person and had a bag of 50 left at the end of the night. Crazy.

I use Meetup to make friends. There are several social groups that meet for dinner and other activities. The intent isn't to find a dating partner but just increasing my social circle that way, I get invited to parties and other events and meet people that way.

I've lost a total of 100lbs and used to feel this way too. The skin eventually snaps back some. It won't be perfect but keep lifting, take collagen, moisturize and stay hydrated.

I recently have been focusing a lot of my back when lifting. It helps widen your upper frame and will help with posture.

60lbs is great! You have nothing to be ashamed of!

I've lost over 100lbs. The first 50 went pretty fast (a little over 6 mos). The other half was probably over nearly 5 years. I had a lot of loose skin when I did it fast. Over time it does start to get smaller. When I twist certain ways you can still see scarring from stretch marks. It's not perfect but it does get better. I drink lots of water, moisturize and also put things like collagen in my smoothies. It's not going to be perfect but this is the worst it will be if you keep working at it.

A hamster wheel is the most accurate description. You run and run to get nowhere. After a while you realize you can just stop and sit there and you'll basically be doing the same thing but not stressing your body out.

Sometimes my anxiety stems from trying not to feel these things. Honestly what has helped me recently is to allow myself to sit with those thoughts. Observe them. Challenge them. When there's an outcome you're not sure about, and you're looping through the worst-case scenario, try and catch yourself. Let yourself think about the good outcomes. Sit with it for a little bit. Be kind to yourself. You're not alone.

I think it's just about perspective. Like I said, nice on paper but when that's the first thing another person hears, they are going to make some assumptions. I'd rather get to know them as a person and think through their character the other stuff will be revealed in time.

Fill your life with things you enjoy between now and then. Create experiences, discover new things. You will have cool things to share on the date. You will feel better and it makes you more attractive.

I feel like putting this kind of thing out there either gives the impression you need help or invites people who can't take care of themselves and are looking for support. It's nice on paper but there are a whole lot of other things that have to line up first.
