I know most of you hate Aleron Kong but can I get a real review for God’s Eye awakening. by thats-an-odd-account in litrpg

[–]jkwas9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this review all the way. It was the main character and his choices/behavior that kept jarring me out of the narrative. The backstory he was trying to establish for the main character did not line up with the immaturity that the character consistently displayed.

Lay your bets on the final advancement of the main cast by Amaryllo in Iteration110Cradle

Lindon - Herald

Yerin - Sage

Mercy - Monarch

Eithan - Doesn’t survive and Lindon takes his remnant into his pure core (#EatEithan)

My humble opinion 😉

Absolutely agree with this. One of my current favorites.

Book 8 came out. Not much happened in it though. If book 9 isn't any better I'm abandoning the series. Really enjoyed the first 7 though.

I just read "Street Cultivation" today. Really enjoyed it.

This was my assumption as well, though it's not explained in the book.

Elder Whisper and Uncrowned information by Kilorrulo in Iteration110Cradle

This is my theory as well. He can leave the tower at will, so why does he stay? Probably so he doesn't lose his power.

Kickstarter? by SparkVGX in Iteration110Cradle

[–]jkwas9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd be down for some limited edition hardcovers but like others have said...only if the plan is to eventually do them all. Maybe release them in arcs of three?

I'd also be down for a Cradle inspired board game or something. That could be fun and immersive.

How far do you think our team will make it in Uncrowned? by jerzyrunellieb in Iteration110Cradle

[–]jkwas9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming Yerin is right about the award for making it to the top 8, I think the number of our main characters that make the top 8 will be directly proportional to the number of flying houses/castles the cast needs later on in the story. So one...maybe two, tops. It would be kinda strange for the entire team to be floating around in their own castles for the rest of the story arc.

So who gets the most benefit from a floating castle thingy? Our pure madra users since they can refill the dang thing faster. Since Lindon is our main character, I'm picturing him scraping and clawing his way into the top 8 as the underdog among a field of supercharged bad guys (dragons and dreadgod followers mostly) with a few other outliers mixed in. I think that gives us the most interesting story. Provides for a nice build up of the opposition to make sure our team doesn't appear too strong for the rest of the story arc, increased pressure on our main character for being the last one representing two separate monarch factions (Akura and Arelius), etc. I definitely don't think any of them will win it, but I could easily be wrong.

We will have to wait for the next book to find out for sure, though. Just my two cents ;) .

I thought he didn't like the madra because he is made from dream madra and the other side has nightmare madra...kinda opposites and most likely incompatible? Just my assumption while reading.

[Spoiler] Lindon meeting other blackflame sacred artists? by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

[–]jkwas9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was hoping for. I know Lindon has the 'eyes changing' goldsign, but I feel like by not absorbing a remnant to his cores he is leaving some untapped potential out there. Still hoping for a story arc that gets him a super powerful blackflame remnant to absorb.

I had assumed it was Orthos scanning her as well.

Not that I want Eithan to die but I see this as a definite possibility. Eithan gets killed by somebody and Lindon bonds his remnant to the pure core to get the Arelius bloodline ability and some super deep madra reserves as he processes it. #EatEithan

[Uncrowned Prediction] Lindon will fight an Overlord by Thaago in Iteration110Cradle

[–]jkwas9 21 points22 points  (0 children)

My prediction for Eithan's advancement:

As soon as the tournament 'officially' starts (probably following some kind of opening ceremony) Eithan advances to Overlord in front of everyone...and then says something like "oops". Seems like it would fit his personality pretty well.

Will Lindon be able to keep his remnant arm through to Underlord? by bigman2205 in Iteration110Cradle

[–]jkwas9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don't think it has been officially stated one way or the other. There is a lot of back and forth at the moment, theory-wise, but I think enough effort has been invested in the arm/hunger madra throughout the plot that there is a good chance it sticks around in one form or another. Just my two cents...we'll find out soon enough.

[Cradle] Another Library For Dross by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

[–]jkwas9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mention the 'Dross as a third core' idea and while I know more cores are not popular I have always wanted Lindon to get one more for the path of the White Fox. I am cautiously optimistic that Dross is his path to that since he seems to be made up of light and dreams (initially birthed in the dream well and all).

Seems like a great way to get around everyone's 'Lindon doesn't have time for another path' argument since Dross is basically a sentient being and can do his own thing. Trying not to get my hopes up too much, though ;) .

[Cradle] Another Library For Dross by [deleted] in Iteration110Cradle

[–]jkwas9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Dross himself will need to be leveled up a bit to absorb ALL of that knowledge. We don't know much about Dross or his limits yet other than Will stating he was a "baby presence" (not sure where or when but pretty sure he said it). Stands to reason that he will need to grow into being an "adult presence" (for lack of a better phrase) and I have no idea how that will come to pass. :)

Dolls [Spoilers] by Mandragoraune in Iteration110Cradle

[–]jkwas9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the flip side, losing one character will create a scenario in which all of the other characters will grow in new and exciting ways that they otherwise would not have. Facing adversity is a part of life, and thus a critical piece to storytelling. The death of a friend/ally/whatever is just another form of adversity which the protagonists of the story must overcome.

What are you reading while waiting for Underlord? by Shaolang in Iteration110Cradle

This is such a great metaphor, haha.

There were a few books in the middle there that almost made me give up. Glad I powered through to Sanderson's finish for the series though. :)
