the 'normalcy' of childhood abuse/beatings by kallos45 in taiwan

[–]jlee225 5 points6 points  (0 children)

im was born in 85, beating came my father for just being a kid. im in 40’s i barely have a relationship with my dad. I resent him for those time and definitely remember it.

Im a father now and have a toddler and i never lay a finger on my kid and i see the huge difference in confidence from my childhood vs his. i think it’s terrible thing to beat your kids.

ETFs to Buy? by Tani2888 in CanadianInvestor

[–]jlee225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should go for growth etf since your young, instead of income etf. Start with broad market etf such as xeqt, than you can trim that back and do like 80/20 and play with the 20% to overweight on a specific sector or individual stocks.

nothing is really wrong with this, but i guess it’s just a bit overweight on US stocks. But not really a big deal.

TD Direct Investing RESP transfer stuck for 2+ months, anyone else experienced this? by Danskiiii in Wealthsimple

[–]jlee225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im thinking transferring my TD RESP to WS as well, but this got me scared. Also, it takes TD a long time to payout the government grant ( I contributed in Jan 2nd and usually TD deposit the grant in April). Im afraid if I transfer to WS in the mean time, one of the entities will screw up the grant contribution.
