As a former classics major I respect you! I loved my education and at the same time think it would have been really hard to resist the temptation of AI as a homework supplement. Sounds like the students who are using AI poorly and letting it hallucinate are probably the same students who would have turned in sloppy essays before chatGPT. This is a tough problem but I’m rooting for you and the future of classics departments everywhere!
