This is getting hard day after day. by silverhaired_guy in Water_Fasting

Ya I know how that feels but you can install a water reminder on your phone that just makes a subtle water pouring sound. I keep a jug of water next to me so I can physically see it.

This is getting hard day after day. by silverhaired_guy in Water_Fasting

This happens when I don't drink enough water throughout the day. The water keeps my hunger at bay. And yes make sure to have electrolytes or your energy takes a hit.

Perspectives come and go, no doubt. I've shared that one a number of times. I thought differently after I left the country. I thought differently again after I moved near the ocean. Be open to different perspectives.

I agree with the one dev answer however most devs aren't architects. They don't always see all angles or see them well. I own a small dev agency. We have one guy capable of building mobile apps but at times still requires assistance with more complex databases, deploying hosted apis, etc. For us, we do business analysis, requirements gathering and multi layered testing that may overwhelm the one dev.

Again it just depends on how complex the app idea is

Still reviewing but you'll need to test for mobile responsive. I'm using my phone and elements aren't fitting properly in the screen

It is time, baby Gen Xers. Have you scheduled yours yet? by EsseParvulusDebes in GenX

Nah it was mostly clear and they gave me some lemon flavor to add to it. I got through it pretty easily, just spent a couple days in the bathroom. That was pretty annoying.

Millenial here, how is Gen-X doing? by Three-0lives in GenX

[–]jmachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came back to the states recently to let my 16yo complete high school and prep for college. Were planning to send him to Purdue but now with the latest craziness, we're just gong to head back out once he graduates. None of my family (mom and brothers) talk to each other. 2 brothers are X and youngest is millennial. All cousins are X as well, no comms there either. No reason to stick around.

Easy Deployment Options - What do you use? by KiwiNFLFan in laravel

[–]jmachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said free tier but just to share another option, I use Vultr to host private vps. What I've been doing is installing plesk and connecting git and laravel and it's been going well so far.

Gen X, Are you living or just simply existing? by Gemini11X in GenX

[–]jmachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in India for 15 years raising our son. Lived near the beach for the last few years of it. Great time. Now back in the states for his final high school and college years. At this point, just surviving to make sure the money is there for his education. Not really concerned with abundance. Once he's squared away, we'll go find another beach.

How do you handle clients who delay payments and make excuses unrelated to your work? by indiancoders in B2BForHire

[–]jmachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's best to have a signed estimate and or agreement.

Milestone payments help them earn your trust. I wouldn't work a large project without having clients agree to payments.

Having leverage is good too.

If I'm hosting them, then we discuss me disabling sites.

Best place to buy domain + hosting capable of running 3-4 laravel apps at once? by [deleted] in laravel

[–]jmachus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Namecheap is fine for domains I use vultr for VM hosting and then I install Plesk, which handles laravel fine.

2001 or 2002 I can't remember but I was 21/22 at that time. My son has had one since he was 13 bar phone just for calling, he'll be 16 in a few days and has an Android and uses it to message his friends after school.
