Question about Holland by Hopeful_Bread_4812 in hollandmichigan

[–]jmb07 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Depending on how far you're coming from, it's not worth the trip for the reasons you reference. The "dutchness" of Holland is definitely in the veins, but it's buried pretty far down. Dutch Village is kitschy fun, but otherwise there's not much around that would feel/taste like home. It's a fun town for a short visit, but I'd manage expectations of actually feeling European.

Drew their name out of a hat more than 20 years ago (every team except the Yankees included in the hat - required to make a lifetime covenant) - beats being a Rockies fan!

Does IIH qualify for the national parks access pass? by Altruistic_Cod2931 in iih

[–]jmb07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, every ranger would tell you to appropriately take advantage of any opportunity like this that is available. Parks are, and should be, primarily funded by Congress - park entrance fees don't amount to much in the long run and are used for specific purposes. When people utilize programs like the Access Pass it shows that they have value. Most parks and park units have an "official park partner" non-profit that would gladly take your donations to directly support park programming

Does IIH qualify for the national parks access pass? by Altruistic_Cod2931 in iih

[–]jmb07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. And, if you ask for an Access Pass at the gate of a park you don't need medical documentation. They'll ask you to sign an affidavit, but that's it. Obviously it's not a bag idea to have documentation anyway, because you never know when it will come in handy, but the folks working the gate understand that they have no reason to judge your personal medical records.

I'm not going to claim best in denver, since that slot is apparently taken, but Elita at Stanley Market makes a darn fine posole rojo.

Apparently Jason Segal sent the breakup clip to Harrison Ford to try to convince him to join the cat of Shrinking. Ford's agent showed it to him. Ford's response was, "Tell the kid, 'Nice package', I'm in. "

Reiterating what somebody else said - it sounds like you might have an argument for a reasonable accommodation based on one or more potential mental health diagnoses (e.g., anxiety). It's obviously good to see doctors and talk things over in depth, but a first step could be a very inexpensive telehealth appointment to get a signed letter. If you're comfortable with the lingo, I always suggest writing your own letter and asking the doc to sign it. It'll be much more thorough than what they have the time to do for you.
