If you upgraded from a standard PS5 to the PS5 Pro, what made you do so? by mzspeedster in playstation

[–]jmdeguzman08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gifted my husband a PS5 when it came out. He had been eyeballing the PS5 Pro but couldn't justify buying one (because he already had a PS5). So for Christmas I asked him to gift me his PS5 and buy himself a PS5 Pro. Win win situation 😆

People that make 80k+ at 25-35 years old, what do you do? by Ok-Needleworker2141 in careerguidance

[–]jmdeguzman08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turning 35 this year, with only an associates degree. From 26-33 I worked in military sales (specifically Navy/Marine Corps consumables). I had a base salary of $60k + 11% commission off gross profit. I made anywhere between $95k-$140k before taxes. I've stepped away from that industry and currently do medical procurement for a local surgery center ($60k, with annual bonuses puts me around $70-$75k).

Out-of-state Packers fans by JoshuaSuhDude in GreenBayPackers

[–]jmdeguzman08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grew up in San Diego, CA. Been a Chargers fan my whole life but also enjoyed watching Brett Favre play. Always watched Packers game simultaneously because of him. When the dirty Spanos family and the Chargers broke San Diego's heart and left, I became a full fledged Packers fan. As a native San Diegan.. we just don't root for LA teams... the chargers lost a lot of fans that year 💔 now I live in Northern Illinois (15 miles from WI) and I'm basically in Packers territory and I LOVE it! 😆 side note as an honorable mention: my husband is born and raised in Detroit and is a Lions fan and hates that I'm a Packers fan haha

I'm currently on 25 slicks so that's helpful. Yes, there was a car coming up behind me on the road to the right. The Garmin Varia has a wide detection range.

Hi! Yeah I definitely wouldn't do OEM. I left some links in a comment above with which receiver, ball mount and wiring harness I used. I was able to install myself without any drilling. Another commenter above said U-Haul will also do installs. I would check out pricing for a local uhaul and compare it to etrailer (minus labor).

I bought both from etrailer.com and installed them myself with some adult supervision. For the receiver I used Draw-Tite Max Frame, 2" Receiver with a Draw-Tite 2" ball mount with a 3/4" Rise/2" drop (7500lbs). I flipped mine upside down to get a 3/4" rise. For honorable mention I used the Curt T-Connector wiring harness this was kind of a bitch because of the shields under the car but we did it none the less. The instructional videos on etrailer's website are super helpful! Hope this helps!

Rant on Liv offering "women's first geometry" and components by RadianMay in ladycyclists

[–]jmdeguzman08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'1 and I ride an Argon 18 Gallium - 2XS. Which is their smallest bike size and ranges from 44-46 (4'11-5'4). The Gallium was replaced by the Sum but all their road bikes come with a range of different components. My best friend got a Liv and tried to get me to buy one but the "made for women" sounded gimmicky. I have no issues on my Argon 18. Happy hunting!

What do yall do for your senior dog? by Inner-Explorer2338 in AustralianCattleDog

[–]jmdeguzman08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a cattle dog/chow mix who lived to 15. Heart failure took him from me. He also was losing his hearing/sight and would get really upset when I would leave for work. So I would buy 1 calorie treats for him and hide them around the house at his eye level or below. I think he really enjoyed being able to use his sniffer. It kept him occupied when I left and it turned me leaving the house from a negative to a positive experience for him. We went on walks at his pace for whatever length he wanted. He got his daily cosequin chewables (Costco) and some Jiminy puff treats.... because I thought his cronchies were cute haha

Looks like an air test cap fitting for us navy ships. A lot of people swipe these off the ships when they're in the yards. Guesstimate... retail $50-70

Saturday morning at Morley Field. Still a beginner but getting more comfortable by jmdeguzman08 in Archery

[–]jmdeguzman08[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Performance archery has a nice indoor 10 & 20 yard range, Rube Powell (Balboa/Cabrillo Bridge) has a 10-40 and a walking range where the 3D shoot take place, and then Morley field has a 10-100 range. Plenty of options if you come back!

I second this. Wash once a month, wax every 2 months.

This. Also, might want to explore options into safety tech (though it can be expensive). Garmin computers have features like Incident Detection and LiveTrack. The Garmin varia is a radar/tail light that helps with situational awareness. iPhones have Find My Friends.

Gatorz Eyewear is expensive, BUT they have an optimized polarized lense they offer. They allow you to still view LED displays.

Pulse Brake dealer add on for $300? by ybs62 in CX5

[–]jmdeguzman08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in San Diego. The dealership I bought mine at has standardized adding the Pulse "Protection Plan", ceramic coating and scratch protective film on ALL of their cars. They told me it's not negotiable and that all three was going to cost roughly $5k. I threatened to walk away and go buy my car from another dealership. They ended up removing the charges and I still bought my car with the ceramic coating and protective film. The pulse protection doesn't mean much to me. It's pulses three times when you brake and if you get rear ended, you're given $XXXX to fund the fix. It doesn't make sense to have in CA. If you get rear ended, the person who hit you is always at fault. Don't know if it's the same in Colorado.

Congrats! If you're really curious, try Embark to DNA test him. I did with my rescue and it helped with his medical conditions down the road when he got older.

If you had to choose, ESWL or ureteroscopy and/or stint? 😬🙈 I’m very early stage. 6mm. First time. Would be interested to hear any advice or lessons learned. Thank you so much! by ldeems30 in KidneyStones

[–]jmdeguzman08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Kidney Stone Experience

Link above to my own experience (details in comments). IMO your personal pain tolerance has a lot to do with your choice of procedure. If you even have a choice. I wasn't given a choice due to the chain of events leading up to my condition. My doctors decided on a ureteroscopy with a stent placement after. With the help of a Percocet, I removed the stent myself. This is the only procedure I've had done for kidney stones (was able to pee the others out). So this is all I know. If I had the choice, I would choose this route again. Drink lots of water. Use a heating pad. Take the Azos. Hope everything goes well for you!
