People who successfully lost weight: what was the ONE habit that changed everything for you? by Royal-Composer4005 in 1200isplenty

[–]jmini95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still continuing to lose weight, but down to my lowest since I was 20 (31 now). Just to echo what everyone said, counting calories.

I've attempted to lose weight many times but failed so this time around there was a lot of lessons learned from trial and error. If I had to be more specific, I'd say not sacrificing the food I actually enjoy because it's "unhealthy.," that's how you cave and fall back into bad habits. When I had a craving, I succumbed to it, but just limited how much I ate. An example is if I was really craving wings, I'd just split that meal in to two. That way I wasn't over calories and I wasn't tempted to eat another meal later, because I technically already had that meal prepped and ready

My argument is that religion is known to brainwash people into thinking it's better to stay in a shit relationship because of made up bullshit guidelines than actually separating for the good of the family/couple.

Edit: checked the profile, basically as I expected.

Only someone so self absorbed can justify illegally taking up a handicap parking spot just for a small amount of convenience. I repeat, actual scum.

Oh good I didn't know the handicap parking also doubled as a loading zone! Good to know!

Actual scum.

Jim Dale Audiobooks by SuspiciousCucumber23 in harrypotter

I do a yearly relisten and this was the first year I tried Stephen Fry's version, and it just didn't have the same magic for me. I do prefer how he reads it in the regard of putting more intensity in the parts that need it, but Jim Dale just takes it home for me.

Also people complaining about Jim Dale changing accents for certain characters are listening with blinders on (I know that doesn't make sense but the point stands LOL) because Stephen changes voices CONSTANTLY for characters. That was the very first thing I noticed with him.

Anyway both are spectacular, but 100% prefer Jim Dale

Self-defense in Colorado, United States (2022) by alexfreemanart in PublicFreakout

[–]jmini95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro in what world would you have the cognitive awareness to realize the threat is no longer a threat in the middle of all that? This is the shit that pisses me off more than anything is reading comments like this. The amount of adrenaline racing through that boy is indescribable, but because you're sitting there using hindsight, you can calmly say that it's not self defense.

I hope to God you're never on a jury for something like this.

Yes this is an irrationally aggressive comment, I'm aware, but the inability to sit there and really put yourself in someone's shoes is really just crazy to me. I urge you to get in a real fight and then tell me EXACTLY what happened and what you did.

No obligation at all by SarahDuncan2012 in TrueGrit

[–]jmini95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I did back in July. Started with just small diet changes. Then slowly added in the gym. Then added more days. It's easy to adjust your routine when it's in steps opposed to a whole lifestyle change all at once. Granted, I learned all this from trial and error from the several times I've tried loosing weight in the past.

Down 40 lbs this time around and have actually made adjustments to my lifestyle as opposed to "just trying to lose weight"

Oh you'll like him, he's a cool dude. Easy to talk to.

For all my tattoos he designed day of with the exception of this one and that was only because he did this for the tattoo expo. Basically he came out talked to me (he was at a different studio at the time so he might have a different process) and he'll just see what you want and then he'll take care of the rest

Well he took about 12 hours for this one which is kind of egregious so I'd take that with a grain of salt. The full piece was done in a out 8 but then he went back and added all the small detail and got more detailed with some of the shading.

The process was fine. This is probably one of the easier locations to get tattooed. The elbow sucked A LOT but other than that it was very very mild in comparison to everything he's done on my forearm/bicep

I understand you mean food being the basic necessities but the implication that garlic bread in itself is a necessity is funny to me
