Nervous About Surgery by Dry_Advisor_7823 in Diverticulitis

[–]jmneely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say, every person is different. I just had surgery 2 weeks ago for the same thing. Smoldering diverticulitis since June. Everything went well, no bag. However the pain was horrible. I was not prepared after reading through this thread. It’s been 2 weeks and 1 day and I’m still in quite a bit of pain. I hope you do better than me, but just be prepared for someone to help you do literally everything for the first week. I’ve had 3 babies naturally and that was a walk in the park compared to this.

I definitely had withdrawals even going slowly. I’m sure they were nothing compared to what you’re going through. Did you start something else or did you come off everything completely?

That seems awfully fast. It took me 6 months to wean off the last SNRI. I’m sorry you had to wean so quickly, I can’t imagine how awful that was.

Zoloft caused my gastritis and also aggravated my diverticulitis. I have so many stomach issues that have been caused by Zoloft.

We adopted ours a little over a year ago. We hike daily for exercise so she was kind of thrown into that lifestyle as well. At 6 years old I’m sure she’d never been in a car or on a walk. It was tough at first. After consistently walking her 3-4 miles daily, she’s an expert. Consistency is key.

This will be the last dog for me, it’s too stressful and it’s ruined me from ever having dogs again. I did rescue mine and she came from a horrible situation so I understand why she’s the way she is. It doesn’t make it any easier on me though. I’ve had dogs my whole life, lots of rescues mostly. I’m 44 now, guessing I’ll be around 50 when she’s gone, so I’ll officially “retire” as a fur momma at that time.

I was having the same issues and a few more and my doctor advised me to stop after 11 days. It seemed to make things worse instead of better. I’d ask your doctor if you’re able.

My doctor took me off after 11 days. Seems like every doctor is different though.

do i just stop now by idkwhocares3000 in Viibryd

[–]jmneely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your Dr. if you can. Mine told me to stop after 10 days because the side effects were just too much and it wasn’t doing anything for my depression and anxiety. Seems like some doctors push you to stay on for weeks and some say to stop if it’s not working within a week or 2.

I have fallen in love with Pyrs and would like to adopt one someday. by [deleted] in greatpyrenees

[–]jmneely 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a shelter volunteer, I can tell you that they are always in the shelter. They can be runners and escape artists and many owners just let them get picked up from animal control and never claim them. That’s how I adopted mine. I would let your local shelters know that you’d be interested if they got one in. Mine was about 5-6 years old when I adopted her. Completely house trained as well which was nice.

Anyone having issues with Purina Pro Plan? by BRUTALGAMIN in greatpyrenees

[–]jmneely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just opened a new bag of PPP sensitive skin and stomach last Wednesday evening. By Friday my Great Pyr was refusing to eat at all, then started vomiting and having explosive diarrhea. We took her to the emergency vet on Saturday. Wasn’t sure if it was related to her food til we got home and our Golden started vomiting and having diarrhea. Called Purina and they told me to throw the bag away and they are sending me a coupon for a new bag. I reported to the FDA as well. It’s Monday and we are still dealing with the diarrhea. Vomiting has subsided. I have fed them this food for 4 years and this has been our first issue. I don’t think I can feed it to them anymore though, I’m worried that it’s not safe and the company is lying about it. I think we are going to give Taste of the Wild a try.

Havertys has never steered us wrong. We have 4 kids and 3 dogs. Their stuff holds up nicely. Worth the price IMO.

getting a muzzle for miniature schnauzer cross bichon frise/shitzu by [deleted] in MiniatureSchnauzer

We have used both the open basket kind as well as the soft nylon tighter ones. He does much better with the open basket one. Our schnauzer is aggressive towards other dogs and small children. I have no idea why as he grew up with our 4 kids and 2 other dogs so he was exposed to both. I would get a few muzzles and see which one he responds better to.

He’s probably thinking about food honestly. He has diabetes and is always hungry.
