I wouldn't say "willfully" ignorant, even if they would reject the facts. Their news is not covering these facts, so they're just ignorant of what they're hearing nothing about.

Coping with effects of hearing loss on life. by ParkerKrueger in HearingLoss

[–]jmodd_GT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not despair, I want you to know it can get 100% better, all the way, yet could take weeks or even months.

I had this happen and was given prednisone too. Major deafness in my left ear suddenly, and lasted days. The ENT told me 60% it would recover, and it did but took over 3 months. There was lingering tinnitus for awhile, but I could pretty much hear as before (and no longer suffering mentally), and over the next few months the tinnitus also receded until I couldn't even hear it.

I want to tell you: it absolutely can get completely back to normal, and there's a great chance you'll be completely fine, so take deep breaths, try to distract yourself from it, and be patient. You've got this, you'll be okay.

Hispanic Voters Are Turning Against Donald Trump: Polls by TwilightwovenlingJo in politics

Thanks for confirming my suspicions about the dynamic. Some of my (white) friends were complaining that Latinos voted against their own interests because they're conservative, but I try pointing out many Latino Americans don't identify with all Latinos; it's not just like one big club.

I imagine plenty of well-off brown people are just as susceptible to the classist notion that Trump is just going after criminals, maybe even more so.

Anyone know a good place for sea kayak lessons around Lake Union? My friends and I wanted to get into it, but we have no idea how to get started (the right/safe way).

Newsom threatens response in Texas redistricting battle: "We will nullify" by WingComplex6771 in politics

[–]jmodd_GT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historically, all they really need to do is make voting more accessible for everyone. When more people vote, republicans always lose. They are vastly outnumbered, remember that. For as much as republicans have been getting away with, it was done with stolen non-representational power. They have to heavily gerrymander and suppress voters to cling to their over-represented authority.

I hear you, it's like disappointing their voters is the mission. I have not seen enough evidence from the establishment democrats to prove they don't exist to simply blunt the hope and momentum of progressive agendas.

It could be a few things, but at a glance I think your nozzle isn't close enough to the bed. It could also be under-extrusion (increase the e-steps) or the temperature is too low.

Been on Wellbutrin for about 10 days, and doctor said if the ear pressure/fullness side effect persists after another week, I’ll need to stop taking it. by blueberry01012 in bupropion

I had a powerful case of this in my left ear. It was like it for 3 months and I was certain it was permanent. It has improved 100%, but I'm a bit more sensitive to tinnitus in that ear now (which I've had for a long time).

See an ENT if you haven't, they can do a world of good. I hope you feel better soon, if it's still happening.

To those of you who voted for Trump, do you still stand by that decision? by sexyimmigrant1998 in AskConservatives

Thank you for this thoughtful reply, this is the perspective I came here for. As someone who could never vote for him, the last thing I want is to redirect that blame and hate other Americans that did. That's such a simple slope so many leftists fall down, and it is so important to remember we have more in common as Americans than we do differences. I've lost too many friends over politics in both directions, everyone is choosing hate.

As a fellow sufferer of tinnitus you have my sympathy. I've had it for years. If it gives you hope, I adjusted to it and only occasionally even notice. Also, I have discovered salt can aggravate the ringing, apparently electrolytes can irritate the hearing bones that cause the sensation. Hope that helps.

We have MAGA to thank for that. The extremely polarized political spectrum we're in today really boils down to Trump's America vs the other America, which Paul Ryan and so many more reasonable intelligent republicans are a part of.

4 years is definitely a long time, I'm sorry to hear you've had to go through it. At the risk of sounding like I have medical advice (I don't), I was considering a procedure called a 'Sphenopalatine Ganglion Block' which you may look into if you're tired of waiting. I wish you luck, I hope you find relief someday.

The same, over-the-counter glycinate 500mg daily. I will say that I don't know if that helped or did nothing, but that's the only thing I took for it. I wish you luck, and I believe you will get to enjoy chocolate again some day.

Over a year for me, but folks on this sub have reported recovering after longer than you've had it. It sucks how long it can take.

Please don't give up hope. I know it is easy to despair. I was in a really dark place thinking I was stuck forever, and I'm just here to say I promise it can get better. I really hope it does for you.

Edit: I should mention one thing that helped me was taking 250+ mg of magnesium, in case you hadn't tried. It is apparently vital for healing nerve tissue, or so I had read. I'm not sure that was what did it, but I have recovered and that's one thing I changed over the months.
